i really do think "glorch" is a good contender for a word for "a computer fucking up because some dipshit replaced something that was working fine with some machine learning bullshit"
Obligatory not an actual medical professional, but I am wilderness EMT trained and worked with the volunteer medics during the June 14th protests. Probably 9/10 people who needed medical attention at that event were dehydrated and heat exhausted because they were not drinking enough water.
To all going to a no kings protest on the 18th: hydrate!
Even better, and if you are able bodied and can afford to do so, bring a case of water bottles with you and hand them out or drop them off at the medic tent if there is one.
Dehydration makes fighting fascism harder! 👎

"average person commits 3 political violence a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person commits 0 political violence per year. Liberals Georg, who lives in [insert large metropolitan area here] & commits over 21,765 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

"Know Your Protest Rights. You don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If they say yes, calmly walk away. If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present. If you get stopped by a member of the military or any law enforcement office at a protest, you have the right to remain silent or to tell them that you'll only answer questions in the presence of an attorney-no matter your citizenship or immigration status.”

You have the right to remain silent, even if you’re arrested. You do not have to discuss your immigration status with anyone. If you’re arrested, you can say that you wish to remain silent until speaking with a lawyer. You have the right to refuse consent to a search. If you have valid immigration documents, you’re required to show them. Never provide fake documents. You have the right to record your interaction with immigration agents as long as you do not interfere. If you’re at home, you do not have to open the door. ICE agents may not enter unless they have a warrant signed by a judge (have them slip it under the door). If they force their way in, do not resist, but you can remain silent." Know Your Rights. Turn your phone on airplane mode when not in use. 4. Disable your phone's Face or Touch ID and replace with a 6-digit passcode. 5. Covering your face may help protect your privacy - but depending on where you are, you may be subject to laws that prohibit wearing a mask. Check with your local ACLU affiliate for guidance on masking. 6.Take appropriate precautions and dress comfortably." Black background with light blue ACLU logo.

A picture of a small green frog perched on a lily pad that has a white flower with a yellow center next to it.
Everything sucks so here's a pic of a frog on a lily pad in bloom.
ugh i love myself a stop at the litterbox in my local elementary school bathroom after a long day of getting abortions and turning mice transgender 😁😌
"Throne" and "united states government" are two conflicting terms, buddy.
sounds about right . Into the crushing wheels you go
I did some quick math (poorly) after the appalling numbers she gave out about the fentanyl pill seizures and according to my calculations, 107 trillion lives will have been saved by friday. how do you feel knowing you will be saved ~13,000 times from overdosing??? 😆😅
thoughts on the create mod? (for minecraft java)
you people have one statistic that was published in 2016 using a group size of 6500 and still have the audacity to round like an engineering professor 🤦 it's 41 or 42 depending on the study
if you're gonna be a dick at least check your sources first

breaking news: being hot and sexy and having correct opinions BANNED 🚫😱💔
Also, what aircraft did you work on when you were a mechanic, if you don't mind me asking? (And as long as it's not like . classified pfft)
I was originally planning to study aviation in uni, but I quickly figured out that the experience of being in the cockpit would NOT work with my sensory issues.
YAY fellow eng nerd!!! 🥳 my mom's strategy to get me and my brother out of our rooms during early covid was to have us watch eng documentaries/mythbusters, hah. That and all of the eng/shop classes i took during highschool made me always want to know why/how stuff works x)
my apologies for the yappage- engineering (and by extension, radiological) history/disasters is one of my special interests :3
While the test itself was not unauthorized, the passing of responsibility to an unprepared party probably was.
Rather than rescheduling, the test was postponed and the night shift, who was not prepared to conduct said test, were expected to do so. That, combined primarily with the design of the RBMK reactor and poor safety culture, ultimately caused the accident.
Sort of. The test had been planned a while before the accident, however another power substation elsewhere went down and chernobyl was asked to accommodate for the lost power headed to kyiv. The day shift, who were supposed to conduct the test, had to focus on that instead.
