Love it!
Not saying that is why Allison paints my nails, but it is a nice bonus to it!

I'll have to keep an eye on the dates for those then. I've already pulled one spiel from this past year that I'm not returning to, so need to find something to fill that!
I've been out to Plainfield a couple times for bonsqueal! It's been a while, but very much enjoyed my visits!
Bonsqueal is great. I've played it twice and it is a blast! It's been a few years since I've been out there, but still have fond memories of those weekends.
We run our open in mid-Oct and it's a good time. Basically, we run one of each type of bonspiel (open, men's, women's, mixed, mixed doubles, senior men's) and then a slew of region/inter club/intra club events.
The open and men's are the biggest, but really any of them are a good time.
Sadly, that is right at the end of my install. Early November, late Feb, and early March are my most open blocks of time.
It's tough since we run so many bonspiels/events that finding an open weekend to get out is hard.
That said, checking off Green Bay next weekend which is exciting.
Fairbanks is also on the list!
Outside of Last Chance, it is more clubs/regions that I'd like to curl. Broomstones, Granite in Seattle, Coyotes, the rest of the Maritime provinces and Quebec.
Mostly trying to get out to new clubs! It's pretty tough with limited weekends available and having curled most of the stuff close by
It's a bucket list bonspiel for me, but also the same weekend as our Mixed here, so unfortunately I've got to be here to make ice instead of heading up to play.
It's baseball opening week and I wish I was more excited.
I'm not sure if it's because the team I support set the modern MLB loss record last year, the other team I support lost its legendary radio voice, or if because the country is imploding under us.
Really a toss up on that.
Absolute banger! What a goal.
Biggest #coffee roasting day yet:
A pound of Java Sunday Haji Iyan roasted to City+ in the left two jars and the first blend I'm trying in the right jar. 55% Rwandan Kivubelt and 45% Mexican Terruño both roasted to City then blended.

A six panel comic. In panel 1, a yellow warbler says "Hey, so I'm going to go out on a limb here". For the next four panels, it hops down along a branch. In the last panel, at the end of the branch, it sings a little song. I'm sorry.
Look I have zero excuses for this, but the idea popped into my head and now it's in your head, sorry
Yeah, pretty much nothing curling specific is made in the US and will be able to avoid tariffs.
All the custom advertising houses come from Canada as well.
I'm mostly worried about blades and sharpening right now. It's not cheap as is and I know there are no US alternatives.
And pretty much all curling ice making equipment.
Can't think of much that we get for ice making that doesn't come from Canada.

Chicagoans! If you are over 40, do not shovel this snow! If you have to, push with the shovel and do not do a lifting motion with your arms! I don't care how in shape you are! It's heart attack snow!

A spokesman for the DOD said in a statement that they are “pleased” that “DEI content” — the history of Jackie Robinson’s military service — was removed. This is white supremacy as government policy.
As the White Sox get ready to parade out their 2005 team and milk those memories for all their worth, they are leaving the man who got the final out to fend for himself.
Absolutely heartbreaking.
Baseball media: if you do not loudly report on this I do not want to hear a goddamn thing from you about Jackie Robinson on April 15.

Yikes! Very happy to not have to deal with that.
Same in IL and every WI club I've played it.
As someone with a mat system as well, albeit with a concrete floor, I feel your pain.
If flooding is the sexy part of ice making, the hours of pebbling and scraping afterwards is the opposite.

Absolute heartbreaker shots!
Sounds like a good time for a flood then!
Oof, been there in those games! That's a tough one to play.
That's no fun. Hope it was a good season for you all! Always a bittersweet point of the year when clubs start pulling the plug.
Ahhh, that makes sense then!
We've got a club somewhat nearby that also runs on a similar schedule based on post-harvest/pre-planting.
Best of luck on the search! When do you start up? Feels like an early time to wrap up.
We run through the end of April, so still have about 6 weeks and 2 bonspiels still to go for my season.
