Bake Zori or Monster Sandle is a tsukumogami (animated object) type yokai. Bake Zori start out as normal straw sandles (zori), but gain life after 99 years. This Bake Zori doll was made by artist Aco_Doll and was a reward for backing their Kickstarter project.

This book was a Kickstarter project by Aco_Doll and features the tsukumogami dolls made by Aco_Doll.

The Zōri-Obake’s arms and legs are made with fairly stiff wire so they won’t break easily, so try bending and stretching them slowly and gently. The tongue can move too 👅

While eagerly waiting for the printed books to arrive, I’m creating something special for all my supporters — a mini “Thank You Scroll,” or as I call it, the “Thanks Roll,” filled with gratitude.

I believe everyone has their own boundaries regarding these technologies, and that’s absolutely fine.
Please feel free to see it however you feel comfortable; I just hope my intentions as an artist come through.

I completely understand your concern, and I truly respect your point of view.
The impact of AI on artists is something I take seriously as well.
In my case, the original work and materials were created entirely by myself — I only experimented with a small tool in a limited way.

That kind of reaction honestly feels a bit intimidating, but I still respect everyone’s choice.
I just hope my work can be seen for its true value.

I honestly just wanted to share my work — the book of my yokai dolls — and have people appreciate it for what it is.
It makes me sad that something as small as trying an app could make someone reconsider their support.

The 25 Bakezōri reward figures are finally complete! The acrylic keychains have also arrived — now I’m just waiting for the books and postcards to come back from the printer. Starting next week, I’ll begin packing preparations like wrapping and addressing. Just a little more to go — I’ll do my best!
