Day 2 SATS breakfast!
Yesterday, RSJ enjoyed their first Forest School session with Mr Hall. We explored the Forest School area and played a game called Eagle eye!
Year 3 & 4 had an amazing time at Trinity Park last Thursday! The children explored food and agriculture stalls, met lots of friendly animals 🐑🐄, and chatted with members of the emergency services 🚓🚑. A big thank you to everyone who made the day so special – it was a wonderful mix of fun & learning!
Well done to our fantastic Year 4 cricket team for playing some great cricket at the ALT North Suffolk cricket championships. Our team did some great batting and fielding and finished in 1st place overall in their tournament to win the gold medals and trophy!
1EA had a great time visiting The Red House, Aldeburgh, once the home of Benjamin Britten. The children took part in a session with a musician, who taught them about the harp and learning to play songs. They also played with toys from the past and performed using their own choice of instruments!
Year 3 really enjoyed singing to the residents and staff of Squirrel Lodge on Monday afternoon!
We are incredibly proud of our year 2 children who performed at the Marina Theatre yesterday! They have been working with the Story World Project over the past term. They initiated, wrote and performed their own story, live on stage and they absolutely blew us away! Well done year 2!
Well done to our Year 6 hockey teams for playing some great hockey at the North Suffolk Sports and Health Partnership quick sticks hockey festival that was held at East Point Academy this week. Our gold coloured team came first place overall in the passing skills challenge to win some gold medals!
Year 1 have been enjoying the spring sunshine and preparing their outside area. The children helped to rake the sand, clear out the greenhouse and start planting a range of seeds such as runner beans, cucumbers and carrots!
Year 3 had a fantastic last forest school lesson, they learned all about fire safety and even got to roast marshmallows!
Children from Red Oak were interviewed by Radio Suffolk this week and talked about the ewe and her lamb that are currently staying at the school!

This week Red Oak has celebrated Shakespeare week and each year group had a play to focus on. We have been very impressed with the children's oracy skills and presentational skills, certainly some very fine acting this week!

Reception children enjoyed their maths parent share, exploring and investigating lots of different games and activities!
Year 3 children also listened to the story read by Andrew Moffat 'The Huey's in the New Jumper' and they were really expressive about treating each other with respect, regardless of any differences.
They know that 'Everyone is welcome and the no-one should feel like an outsider'.
Yesterday, Year 1 children were mesmerised by the story telling power of Andrew Moffat, creator of the 'No Outsiders' programme taught at Red Oak. He read the story 'Going to a volcano', teaching the children that everyone is welcome, and no one should feel left out.
Well done to our amazing year 5/6 A and B teams who won the ALT girls football championships! Both teams were undefeated and played some fantastic football! ⚽🎉
Well done to our Year 5/6 basketball squad for winning the South Lowestoft Schools' area basketball tournament. The players won all of their games to win the first placed trophy and gold medals. We are so proud of our players! Thank you to East Point Academy for organising and hosting the event.
Well done to our brilliant Year 3 cricket team who represented our school very well at the South Lowestoft area schools' Kwik cricket festival held at Pakefield High School. Our team came in 2nd place overall to win the silver medals. We are so proud of all of our super cricket players!

Well done to our Year 3 girls football team for winning the ALT North Suffolk Schools' Cup. Our girls won all of their matches to finish top of the league! Here is a photo of them with the cup and their gold medals. We are so proud of all of our super footballers!
Well done to our KS1 Skittleball teams who played at the ALT North Suffolk Schools' Championships. Our B Team came 2nd in the B League and won silver medals, and our A team finished first in the A League to win the A League cup and gold medals. All players showed great teamwork and resilience!
Well done to our Year 4 girls football teams at the ALT North Suffolk Schools' Cup last week! Our A team went unbeaten in the A League to win the A League Cup and our B team won all of their matches in the B League to win the B League Cup! All of the girls demonstrated great teamwork and effort!
Year 5 children have been learning about Scottish national dishes in D&T this week and discovered that oats are a main staple. They designed sweet and savoury toppings for oatcakes, made them, tasted them and rated them for their appearance and taste!
This week in nursery we invited our families to join us for our science share. Using marshmallows and spaghetti we designed and built tall structures.
