What to Know About the Cicada SARS-CoV-2 Variant This JAMA Medical News article discusses the unusual trajectory of BA.3.2, the most recent version of SARS-CoV-2 to be designated a Variant Under Monitoring by the World Health Organization.

Everything known about the hyper-mutated BA.3.2 variant ("Cicada") of #SARSCoV2. While there's no cause for alarm, continued genome surveillance of this virus is essential.

FDA panel will meet to discuss allowing broader access to certain peptides The FDA will convene an outside panel of advisers to discuss whether to allow compounding pharmacies to manufacture certain peptides

On this Peptide Panel at FDA
My input: "“I just hope the committee does the right thing and does not lift the ban on these peptides for compounding in the U.S. given their vacuous data for safety and efficacy,."

Thanks Eric! I worked to make this review of human immune memory to vaccines comprehensive and accessible. And I made an accompanying video lecture for those desiring a different format:

Mammography should include artificial intelligence support In the past decade, deep learning has increasingly been applied to medical image interpretation, but without consensus as to whether medical practice should change. Many studies show artificial intelligence (AI) enhanced accuracy beyond the performance of radiologists. The most compelling evidence comes from the follow-up of the Mammography Screening with Artificial Intelligence (MASAI) randomised trial, which assessed the reading of two radiologists compared with one radiologist plus an AI algorithm.

Every mammogram should be supported by 3 different AIs for improved detection of cancer, prevention, and risk of heart disease. At no cost to patients.
