I’d not heard of either of them so looked up Steven Pacey, and added a couple to my wish list for next time - thanks 🤩

👏 That’s so cool!! When I find an audio book narrator I really like, I’ll see what else they’ve done as a way to find new books that I might not think to read. Juliet Stevenson has narrated a lot and I sometimes look at her repertoire for inspiration.
I use a 2/2.5mm shortie in the summer over here, and some decent shoes. Got mine in the mountain warehouse eternal sale, cost effective and has lasted for years. Used to look at vinted for the kid, gave up as they’re not always *that* cheap. Sizing can be odd so new gives option to return.
Pope in the streets, plague in the sheets.
Are we tagging ourselves? I’m absolutely a plague
Seeking joy wherever it is hiding; I went to an event called Sing for your Supper at my local. You sit with a drink, with your friends, and sing along to songs you know and love. Have some nibbles about halfway through, and then back to singing. It was an absolute delight.
I feel this in every fibre of my being - solidarity ✊
I’d be minded to say ‘and also with you’
Pretty much my first thought when I heard the news. Thought perhaps I was being unfair but you’ve reminded me that I’m not
Nothing ever really happened - but I was never allowed to go as a kid/teen, even during the day 🍓
Colour me unsurprised. I know a lot of the shops in older premises in Cambs have a college as their landlord. Probably the new ones too tbf.
*Waves from Cambridge* LMAO.
Michael Wood did a show to tell the story of England by telling the story of a particular village; Kibworth. They were able to do it because a load of land was bought by Merton’s founder in 1270, still own a lot, and the records are still at the college.
I don’t think I’m in that place thankfully and it’s so great you did actually get the right help. Would love to see those with power and influence advocate for people to get the care they need!
The D R E A M
In my teens and 20s I wasn’t fat but had huge boobs, so not only was I physically uncomfortable but I was hit on/groped endlessly, and I hated it. But now I’m chubby and aging, I’m less visible and also IDGAF. Bras and society are marginally better thankfully.
I came here to say this. Urgh. The inconvenience and discomfort is real.
The noise I made when I got that email. They knew exactly what they were doing. 10/10 no notes
Reminds me of my fave story from labour. Consultant was frustrated as I kept refusing epidural (only absolute no) and said he’d persuade me. Mr Crow leant back in the chair, laughed and said ‘good luck mate’. Obnoxious, sublime, and correct. Never felt more supported in my life.
Amen to all of this. Things went predictably awry for us so we had to roll with the punches - but it was still my body and my choice about how we resolved it. I absolutely made the right choices on the day and consultant even said on reflection I was right as nothing else would have worked.
Evergreen state of affairs
Exactly this. The truth is enough.
Vote Royston!!
(we did - it took about 30 seconds).
B&W photo of singer Sam Smith
Very strong Sam Smith vibes, who also has sublime style.
Please thank him for all of us
Ahhhh, consider it a gift then 🦆
Tiny plastic duck on top of a computer screen
This is my humble offering. She keeps me company as I wfh, and was a gift from my lovely daughter 🦆
Hanging out with some ducks on the Norfolk broads once, having a boarder duck conversation, and couldn’t recall the word ‘Mandarin’ so googled ‘fancy mallard’ and it worked. I now almost exclusively use the time Fancy Mallard. Don’t @ me.
Finally a new year resolution I’m interested in
RIP Claudia Cardinale. Much like Robert Redford, she was a rare case of a beautiful performer with a filmography full of bangers who did NOT become right-wing later in life. Here she is punching fascist Brigitte Bardot in the face in Les Pétroleuses (1971).
