AGAIN: You can't have it both ways.
You can't demand Dems NOT accept money from corporate PACs, billionaires, etc on the one hand & then complain about them bugging YOU for $10 at a time.
They have to be funded by SOMEONE, & it takes *100,000* $10 donations to equal a $1M check from Musk or Theil.

let me help you: popular social media narratives are wrong. American life is not more precarious than ever, any more than crime is taking over our cities or immigrants are flooding across the border. these are all things we can measure and the measures aren’t ambiguous.
The acting head of the CDC delayed publication of a report showing that the Covid vaccine significantly reduced the likelihood of hospitalizations and emergency visits last winter.

Boston Globe mock front page from April 9, 2016. Date says April 9, 2017, with giant headline “DEPORTATIONS TO BEGIN” and “Markets sink as trade war looms.”
Ten years ago today, in April 2016, the Boston Globe printed a satirical front page imagining a future Trump administration. The page was called "alarmist," "hyperbolic," "dystopian." But we’ve put up with so much since then it now looks like . . . a slow Thursday?
So pro-life means jailing women who miscarry but shrugging when the deranged president says “a whole civilization will die tonight.” Do I have that right?
Don't say "American" when you mean "Republicans"
Don't say "Congress" when you mean "Republicans"
Don't say "government" when you mean "Republicans
So, you’re here constantly complaining about Democrats for some reason with “25th Amendment now!”…Or yelling at Democrats because the 25th Amendment hasn’t been enacted against Trump.
You should shut up or be pressuring Republicans. You should be working to elect more Democrats. Here’s the why.
You can claim that America is the same no matter who is president and that we’re an evil empire that deserves what’s coming to it, but I sure don’t like living in a country that’s run by a guy who wakes up on Easter and threatens to do war crimes. I don’t think that a Democrat would be doing that.
AG Uthmeier is flat wrong. The First Amendment protects religious freedom, not taxpayer funding of religion.
You don’t get to rewrite the Constitution to privilege Christianity while excluding others.
That’s not freedom. That’s favoritism and it’s unconstitutional.
The basic reality is that over the last 4 decades the Republican Party has become increasingly nativist and is now in thrall to a band of lunatics who are actively working toward a white ethnostate. That is due to dynamics on the American right, not because the AP started saying "undocumented."
And then we ALMOST salvaged it with Biden, we had an administration that was ardently pro-trans rights, that appointed trans people to the highest ranks of power, and we let people blatantly fucking lie about them and call them anti-trans.
the process is part of the work. it’s not supposed to be easy. the effort creates good work. i can’t believe this needs to be explained to people who call themselves journalists.
BREAKING: A judge orders the Trump administration to halt construction of $400 million White House ballroom unless Congress approves the plan.
to the left, to the right, to any other direction you got. yes that means you're going to have to make common cause with people who have some opinions you think are pretty obnoxious. try not to dwell on those.
They think not voting is like refusing to order from a menu without options they like. It isn't.
It's like refusing to order, but being force fed what someone else wanted. Plus, you're still going to split the check.
The allegory is so loud it's giving me a headache.
Not sure what this normies stuff is about but if you haven't noticed nice ladies do a lot of the activist work in this country and have since the abolitionist movement, you maybe should.
Picture of Trump with the words “All you are is mean and a liar and pathetic and alone in life abs mean”.
This is why marches are great. Gets us away from the influence of media. You get to cross paths with all kinds of people. Today, Ive mingled with a dozen plus disability folks in wheelchairs, vets of all stripes, and indigenous crews today. Bonus: everyone feels less alone and connected.
It's just an objective fact that Republicans like it when mothers die. It's been a core policy plank of the GOP my entire life.
The sheer idiotic arrogance of these worthless fools, parading around, telling us how they’ll end the war when they’re good and ready, as if the entire world is Columbia University and simply takes orders from them just because
But now it's crept into "any woman who fails a DNA test is actually a man." They're not protecting women's sports. They're policing womanhood itself.
The IOC has announced a trans and intersex athlete ban requiring an invasive SRY genetic test for female athletes.
In the 20+ years trans women were eligible, only one ever competed and none ever medaled. This is solving for a problem that doesn't exist.

Republicans promised big things on “Day 1.”
But they're still blaming Democrats, who lost the White House and Senate 14 months ago, lost the House 3+ years ago, and haven’t had a clear liberal leaning on the Supreme Court for half a century.
We’re now at Day 429 or Day 1,173 or Day 20,729.
Agree. I love what the writing process does for my brain.
idk if its a rise in conspiracy thinking or what but so many people don't understand that like the DNC, DCCC, DSCC don't pick candidates to run in primaries, people decide to run or not, campaign committees can reach out and show people polling but in the end they don't hire the candidates
Very funny that one of the big time Campus Free Speech Panic guys is out here getting mad that ZM is publicly supporting a guy who was severely punished for... exercising his free speech on campus. Kind of gives the game away.
“The present is different from the past, but that’s no use if you can’t remember the past. With feminism, the immensity of its achievements over the past 50 or 60 years disappears if you forget things used to be worse in ways almost unimaginable to those who didn’t live through them or study them.”
“…what they’re really trying to do is change things back, to return to their version of the good old days…That’s a reminder that we changed a lot of things, and the fact that they’re not happy about it should feel like confirmation that these changes matter.”
