'Act of brutality' claim as FA gives reasons for confirming Jhon Duran red card Aston Villa were unsuccessful in their bid to overturn Jhon Duran's dismissal against Newcastle United

One of the independent regulatory commission members who reviewed Aston Villa's appeal against Jhon Duran's red card thought the striker performed 'an obvious act of brutality' on Fabian Schar.

Villa's thorough appeal was deemed, by a 2-1 majority decision, to be unsuccessful.

Her sister recently passed away & she’d spent the day arranging a care plan for her elderly brother-in-law who has dementia.

It only seemed fair to let the adorable scamp promote his latest claret and blue passion project too - Aston Villa – The First 150 Years Volume One 1874 to 1949 and Volume Two 1950-2024. I'll give that a plug in a minute after I've plugged his emotive first person piece for us.

So much so that we've given him a platform to write this account on Birmingham Live, revealing how his devotion to all things Aston Villa brought him back from the brink on several occasions. He's now channelled his Villa obsession into becoming a nine-book #AVFC author.

We used @claretbluepod.bsky.social for a frank and honest chat about men's mental health, with @danrolinson.bsky.social and the lads from The Villa Social opening up about their personal struggles. Colin also came on the pod recently and was brutally honest about his own experiences.

Not sure how many of you have had the pleasure/pain of meeting Colin Abbott. He used to annoy me at first but the more you get to know him, the more he either irritates or charms you! He's charmed me. He's a lovely fella. He loves Villa so much it's helped him through dark times.

Yeah, and 1980s classic pop is one of the best levels!
