EVs have regenerative braking, which recovers kinetic energy during deceleration by running the motor in reverse as a generator, storing electricity back into the battery instead of wasting it as heat.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ This is enough to replace actual brake usage in most situations.

Hi! 10+ years EV owner here. The two things I've spent more money on with my EVs than I ever did with my fossil fueled vehicles are brake discs and pads. Since they never get used, they rust to bits within a couple of years. I wish EVs came with ceramic brakes as standard.
