With April around the corner, don't be a fool. Use your credit on the audiobook version of this banger narrated by the author.

I love this. When I was querying my first thriller, my query was a taunting from my villain. I didn't get picked up, but I had one agent tell me I broke all the rules...but she loved it. Lesson learned BUT that agent and I have a respectful relationship now.
68K M/T - "Said The Spider to the Fly"
Seven former high school buddies descend upon an upscale Airbnb for a long-awaited twenty-five-year reunion.
One of them is an active serial killer.
But that isn’t even the biggest secret.
Come for dinner. Prey for dawn.
Welcome to the parlor.

In the studio recording the audiobook for my latest thriller "With My Little Eye". While you wait for its release on May 19th, let's get acquainted. You can pick up my debut "Kill Them All" now exclusively on Audible. www.audible.ca/pd/B0F8JG5B9...
I write thrillers and love @kenfollettauthor.bsky.social so when I picked up this gem for the first time, I was hooked.
I wouldn't blame any agent I queried to move my thriller over to non-fiction. When I sent the logline to a beta reader, they found it a tad far-fetched. (Perfect for a thriller) Not anymore.
I write thrillers, so my google search is a virtual crime scene.
To your second point, in my latest novel, released May 19th, the ending has had me "mist up" each time I read it.
"If you didn't cry when you wrote it, you can't expect the reader to weep when they read it."

"If you didn't cry when you wrote it, don't expect a reader to weep when they read it."
Someone a lot smarter than me said that. I've never forgotten.
Buck the system! Thanks!
Do you vary the genre of your chosen "winner", trying to avoid what you might have chosen in previous years, or is it based on the entry's merit and your vision regardless of past decisions?
Pain and Suffering is a single POV. James Payne is a divorced PI hired to solve a famous 30-year-old, locked-door, child abduction case. He soon discovers his formidable ex-wife is digging on the other side.
What they uncover would rewrite history.
What started on Y2K ended on 9/11.

I'd send you a copy!
What if a Y2K locked-door cold case led to 9/11's money trail? (Too close to today's headlines?)
One corrupt investment firm whose profits were gleaned from global instability.
One traitor in the Pentagon.
One secret that would rewrite history.
Two competing divorced investigators.

We'll swap on Publication day!
I look forward to reading it. My new manuscript is "Pain And Suffering". What if solving a cold case from Y2K reveals the money trail to 9/11? An investment firm bent on global instability, a traitor in the Pentagon, and a secret that would rewrite history.
Work the thrillers brother!
Good morning, #RevPit! I'm here and caffeinated. Ask me anything!
If you think of your book as your child, but you want that child in the Olympics, you must hand them over to a coach that will challenge them far more than you ever could. Book shelves are the Olympics where they compete against the giants of your genre.
Is there a correlation between the percentage of genre entries of #RevPit and publishing in general? The numbers seem similar to book deals.
Walking in a cemetery when a white plastic bag blew out from behind a tree. It didn't take long to turn it into the ghost of a child. "From Ashes" was born.
"We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" meets "Bad Blood"
A down on his luck PI is forced to join forces with his formidable ex-wife to solve a thirty-year-old cold case that would rewrite history. If they don't kill each other.

Question for #literaryagents If you have rejected three manuscripts from an author over the years, are you more or less likely to view their fourth manuscript objectively? How many authors have you signed after rejecting earlier work? Thank you. #amquerying #writingcommunity
Tell me you barked. TELL ME YOU BARKED!
My wife said, "At times, I forgot you wrote it." Is there a better compliment???
I'm querying a thriller based on the premise that since Y2K and 9/11 were only 20 months apart, what if there were a connection? I'm not concerned that the aggression of this weekend will render the novel untouchable to literary agents, but that I now have to move it to non-fiction.
