I need to rewatch but loved it when I watched for the first time last year.

So good. Cancer is the worst and I can't imagine working through that with my wife, but the message of resilience here is beautiful. Nice work @go-outside-music.bsky.social

It's Friday, which means my inbox is filled with new releases on Bandcamp. Anything good? Have you released something recently?
Let me know. I end up listening to a lot of new music on Fridays while I'm working.
I've been listening to this a lot. It's beautiful!
Experimental renaissance classical music? It's so good.

From her roots in country music to her avant-garde experimentation, Susan Alcorn transformed the pedal steel guitar into a voice of revolution + possibility. Her passing leaves behind a legacy that changed how we think about the instrument's role in modern music.

One of the highlights of being a parent is when your kid LOVES something and wants to share it with you.
My 8 year old is convinced I'll love the Dogman books and put one on my bedside table. He picked one he thought I'd enjoy. Makes me feel hopeful for the future and the kind of person he will be.

High praise considering how good Formations is. Will check this out!
This is my current listening. Really beautiful, sort of ambient, sort of downtempo...brilliant but not long enough!

I've had it on repeat over here. Really lovely.
Really enjoyed Nosferatu. Overwhelmingly dark in mood, atmosphere, lighting, etc. but really well done.
The Witch is still my favorite but this is up there.
Crawling under my house is a top 3 "things I really hate". Had to unfreeze some pipes.
Climbing on my roof and sharks are the other two. Thanks Jaws.
I rewatched last year and really appreciated it more on second watch. It's so beautiful in a way that only Lynch did.
I've had African pepper soup and fufu exactly once in my life nearly 15 years ago and I'm suddenly craving it again ๐ญ this lovely couple from Ghana made it and it was so delicious.
I can't remember my neighbor's name but I can definitely remember her dog's name because it's Gordon.
Nice writeup. Love this album so much. Hear something new with every listen.
Always surprising and always enjoyable to listen to.

Started watching the Japanese film House (1977) and it is one of the most unhinged movies I've ever seen. Such an odd tone. I'm not really sure what to think or what is really going on.
My mom got me a Criterion Channel subscription for a year for my birthday. Watched Thief (Michael Mann) the other night and it was excellent.
What an awesome gift.
My latest YouTube obsession is court videos. It's an odd mix of hilarious and sad that somehow brings me comfort.
Started taking notes using Obsidian to build my own personal network of connected ideas. Realized that reading is great, but connecting what I'm reading to everything else I've read will be much better.
Also really love the whole Chuck Johnson style of pedal steel ambient music. John Also Bennett's album out there in the middle of nowhere sits in that space too.
Maybe not exactly what you're looking for but this album is a pretty hypnotic banjo ambient adjacent sort of deal.

Yerba mate, French press
I don't drink coffee or tea, but I love yerba mate. I grew up with my dad drinking it and it took a while for me to appreciate the taste.
