I had no idea that there was a picture that encapsulated my exact feelings.

Turns out there is.

You seem to forget that in order to get these stories in the first place, we need REPORTERS. Who work for....? Newspapers. Professional reporters who are held to actual journalistic standards. Even the stories you read on social media don't *magically* appear there. Reporters are crucial.

That is a profoundly ignorant take on the current status of journalism. Without local newspapers, we would have no idea what was going on in our communities. And without NATIONAL press...we would rely on propaganda sites and Facebook. Hard pass. We need - and will ALWAYS need - newspapers.
