This was a quick inspirational painting using a #Homeworld 2 background by the legendary Rob Cunningham as a base and staging the new HW 3 style of missile frigates I was developing with Aaron Kambeitz.

Usually I start with a thumbnail sketch, then model like this and then texture and adjust scale for renders in blender to get that more realistic/concept look

This style of wide-wing span long range fighter has been a staple in the Homeworld universe for some time and I wanted to try a miniature version for the upcoming resin fleet.

It's really cool how easy it is to handpaint a light probe and drop it into the Matcap folder for plasticity. Very "artist friendly"
