01 Febuary 1977 : Suspiria

I really like how the colors are used in this one. Otherwise, it’s cool old school horror movie.

Italian cinema is interesting from what I see of it, I should try to explore it more. (+ Italian sound cool)

an artwork by Spindle of the character Asimov, a half-elf woman with short white hair wearing a blue low-cut top with an off-white shirt underneath, a beige apron, and black pants. Sitting on a wooden panel on a rug, making a broom out of reeds.

Also, do you have grammatical genders like in French and Spanish? In the way that each noun has a gender, even objects. For example, a table is "une table" (feminine) while a book is "un livre" (masculine)

(Sorry if I ask a lot of questions lol, I need to understand something I think)

I see, thank you very much. So this works the same way as English where we will more often say "The waiters are there" instead of "The waiter and waitress are there"?

"ze" is similar to "they" then?

je précise que ce que je vais dire s'applique au contexte français, tout ça est différent selon les pays

(4 000 words... I'm not gonna translate that, and if I do, I will use Google Translate. Could be nice to explain the nuance of gendered / romance language to anglophones though)

By rejecting "iel" and a third grammatical gender while still changing French, I think nobody will agree with me lmao. I'm probably alone on this one

My ultimate unpopular opinion...

There is also a chrono at "03:37" at the top left

Yesterday the Indian government removed people's right to self-identify as transgender

The fact that this did made no news, even on LGBTQ focused sites like Pink News is just insane.

+ The way the movie is shot is too ordinary for my tastes I think, though the “urban nighttime loneliness” vibe isn’t bad at all

Anyway, it’s hard to see the movie as anything other than an excuse to justify violence in a purely cathartic context #imo

Travis has the typical story of an incel who ends up going on a killing spree. Except in this case, his target are the bad guys (I know the term “incel” is anachronistic, but it’s just to explain)

I have no problem with anti-heroes, but in this case, it’s the narrative that validates the character’s actions

And the last scene where he leaves without taking the money from the woman he failed to pick up? As if he were getting revenge? lmaooooo, it was so pathetic. Zero aura

(Like it's implied during the scene where the dude explain that someone is only their job and nothing else. I can agree with that though)

(Or just call the police? I suspect they wouldn’t have done anything, but that isn’t shown)

If he really wanted to save that girl, he could have just taken her and brought her to her parents at this point. It’s obvious the character was just looking for an excuse to do something big and become “somebody”

a way to assert his masculinity in a weird way.

Then at the end he’s portrayed as a hero??? Like, okay, so according to the writers, doing justice yourself (idk how to say that) is no big deal?

8 Febuary 1976 : Taxi Driver

I can't help but see this film as "The Incel: The Movie" ngl

Travis decides to use violence to take down a prostitution network, well, why not? But here? It’s portrayed as the result of his own boredom, his own poor ego (he didn’t score with a woman he stalked), and

Very annoying that I can't make something *really* good, actually. Maybe I should make the worst game ever instead, something that only I can understand. At this point, it would make no difference, no limits

I still have a project named "Kyrielle" but idk if it’s interesting enough to work on it.. Hmm...

Could be nice to work on something new, it’s been a while since I released AstĂ©rie now

That's it, I finished translating all my things and I drew what I wanted to draw.
End of the translation arc (I didn't really like it)

What should I do now

Damn, people are pretty mean and disrespectful toward Fujimoto ngl, it's just an ending. Artists (well, people in general) need to be respected even when they are doing something you don't like
