France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

The “Calvin’s dad explains two types” meme, inspired by a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon.

Clockwise from top left:
1) Calvin’s dad walks into frame to find Calvin trying to operate a record player. The dad says: “There are only two industries left in America: gambling, and fraud.”

2) The dad shows where the record goes, and how to turn on the player, while Calvin watches. Dad says “Derivatives? Gambling. AI? Fraud. Video games? Gambling. Social media? Fraud.” Calvin says “yeah”.

3) With one hand open palm up, Calvin’s dad cheerfully explains to Calvin out of frame below him, “The stock market looks like gambling, but it’s actually fraud.”

4) In bed in a dark room, Calvin clutches at his pillow, eyes wide in existential terror. There is no text in the panel.

Every Runner cinematic has been masterclass. Each one oozes atmosphere and communicates the character's core idea with a condensed story in a nearly silent film package. And don't get me started on the SHOTS. I'd seriously use these as examples if I had a class to teach cinematography.

Here's the thing: Democrats already know who can win. They know which policies are popular with voters and which candidates are vocally in support of those policies. They're going to throw a billion dollars into trying to prevent those candidates from becoming the nominee.

It should be required they put up notices like they do for filming if they're gonna remove everybody's ability to park in a residential area with tons of apartments and zero parking structures...

Nothing beats doing soul crushing Sekiguchi contracts on Dire Marsh solo, and blasting on prox chat "DON'T HURT ME, I'M JUST DOING QUESTS" and every person you run into is like "SAME SAME, GOOD LUCK".
Anxiety lobby.

Was it a shitpost? Yeah. Are shitposts stupid and can they actually have the opposite effect than intended? Yep.

Man I don't even want to engage with that post. It feels reductive and belittling to the amazing craftwork and complexity that this medium requires.
Games stunt on multiple mediums, simultaneously, and we still like to call it a childish plaything with all the baggage that carries.
