Are you high-kicking as you listen?
[Thanx for reading my Wolfsbane addendum in the 'notes & queries' section of the podcast. I should clarify that although I am Chris Vincent on Bluesky, I am in reality Chris Crewe!].
p.s. I am going to constantly use the Enya's Hands 'fact' to dazzle and amaze.

An anecdote recounted in the Houston Press says listeners initially coined the term "butt rock" after a radio station advertised its programming as being "Rock, Nothing But Rock." Listeners removed the first half of the phrase to say "Nothing Butt Rock" and birthed a new rock 'n' roll idiom.
Really enjoyed the show (as always).
Meanwhile, I'm familiar with the term - but not its (alleged) origin:

I reckon I've got some of these singles on 7", but I'd have to move loads of other stuff to get to where I think they are.
The life of a record collector!π
Wolfsbane "I Like It Hot" single cover.
Wolfsbane "Shakin'" single cover.
Here's the singles which apparently weren't released from the Wolfsbane album π
Yesterday I made one of my colleagues in the record shop listen to Seventh Son from start to finish (some might say the best way to listen to it)
and today I was on my own in my little office and I listened to 'The Parchment' and 'Hell On Earth' and they are still a bit underwhelming.
Have a pop at this one, it's got subtitles!

That's cool that you've met them. I'm only really familiar with them from buying the Nifelheim CDs back in the 90s.
I have seen the legendary Swedish TV clip of them where they nearly die of excitement after meeting Blaze & Steve, though!
Sweden Rock Magazine has succeeded in doing what no one thought was possible: to get Pelle "Hellbutcher" Gustafsson and Erik "Tyrant" Gustafson to meet for the first time since Nifelheim's turbulent breakup. None of them could resist the temptation to meet Steve Harris for a cover article in Sweden Rock Magazine's majnr. STEVE HARRIS: You are more famous than I am in this part of the world! HELLBUTCHER: Sort of, yeah, haha! TYRANT: That's what happens, haha! STEVE HARRIS: That's mind blowing!
Unbelievable!
After many years of pointlessly holding on to three shelves' worth of VHS tapes, I finally binned mine last week (including all the Maiden videosπ±).
Adrian looks hungover as hell at the start of that clip.

I always wonder what you're on about when you reference this.
I'm still none the wiser and there's no way I'm googling THAT.π
All of us non-Americans will let you know as soon as we work out what 'Budweiser Clydesdales' are. π
Absolutely incredible to hear John Craven on the show. A British cultural touchstone who must be as baffling to you as 'Budweiser Clydesdales' are to me.
Anyway, I'm a confirmed rocker so I'm off to lead a chorus of WE HATE THE MODS to restore balance to the subcultural Force.
1990, on the Carry On Up The No Prayer tour.
Had a look at the trailer. Think I heard Martin Birch's voice in there, which could be interesting. Suspect the film will be fascinating/depressing, though.
Wasting Love?
In that case, TWO RUBBER NICKO McBRAIN MASKS.
2012, for a TV appearance in Brussels (which is in Belgium).
Nicko was ill (i.e. had run someone over with his Jag) and Simon appeared wearing a rubber Nicko McBrain mask.
Janick Gers' real name is Terry Humphries.
Really enjoyed this episode, great stuff!
Now I can FINALLY throw away my unofficial Megadeth socks.
I was thinking the other day that a good Challenge Alice would be to work out the combined age of all current and former members of Iron Maiden.
Not sure what I'd do with that information, though.
And a merry and prosperous 334BC to you and all the @impq.bsky.social listeners!
Was half-expecting this to be my two favourite daft lads making an AI Bungle Bear do swears for an hour but NO...
...it is actually a superb interview with lots of fascinating stuff I've never known before.

I'm up to episode 1113 and in the ensuing madness had forgotten all about the car valve months.
That's not to say that I'm not going to go straight back to episode 1 after I complete the entire series. I kinda miss life in black & white.
