Tbf the internet was shit in 2000. 20 quid a month for dial up, no proper mobile internet, rudimentary e commerce, social media was just message boards.

Think it’s more the multiple ultra slow mo 4k replays that confirms our biases. That and social media meaning that your whinge hangs around and gets amplified.

So if the government wants to influence the direction of the ‘independent’ regulator, why not just take it back in house?

This is a very live issue in the regulatory community, especially since the firing of the CMA chair

Why would you hire a political figure to chair an independent regulator?

This was my maths:
UK 25%
Rest of Ulster 15%
Leinster 25%
Connacht 25%
Munster 10%

Sound reasonable?

25% of the Irish rugby team is UK. Can’t get more cordial than that.

Yeah right. Saudi World Cup with all matches ppv. Is boxing really the sport that rugby should be emulating?

A lot of their coursework didn’t take place. It may not be the universities’ fault, but how else can students get redress?

I think my kids would say that they could have done better.

It wasn’t the airlines fault that flights were grounded. But they still had to give refunds.

My kids had a shitty experience for which they paid 30 grand. Zero pastoral care, remote lectures continuing after restrictions lifted, months of delays for marking. People got refunds for cancelled holidays, wedding bookings etc. What makes education so special?

Potentially, Y11 has to sell it. Or if the deal hasn’t gone through, the WRU have to sell to someone else.

And it’s reasonable to expect a better experience for 30 grand plus interest

If all you’re doing is listening to the news, then it’s difficult to see how switching it off makes a difference to the political arena. If it’s significantly affecting your mental health then it’s a positive and necessary thing to step back.

Some global majority staff are vaccine hesitant because global majority people have been used as guinea pigs for experimental vaccines in the past.

I’ve been going to see the Pogues for 25 years (well ok, 35) and you’re spot on. The shows this summer were fabulous.

Would be less regressive and less distortive to reduce or remove the huge tax advantages that employees and company directors get from leasing EVs.

5 months ago 1 0 0 0

Anything that makes EVs more expensive relative to ICE cars slows down their adoption. So this tax just makes net zero more difficult to achieve.
