i wonder if the epic games layoffs are going to retain Simon Peyton Jones. i really don’t think Verse is a good investment

ive found that “diary where i write down things i need to do” sticks way more than “write about stuff as a mindfulness exercise”. something about my autism finds it very hard

Use some of this money to automatically scan and label flashing videos please

it seems like a big logistics problem. scanning every video on the firehose would be prohibitively expensive unless you were, e.g. Bluesky Social PBC. it seems like services like youtube already do tests like these though

measure percieved brightness over time for a video -> look for sudden jumps -> have some threshold where a jump too sudden is flagged for epilepsy

4 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

i wonder if flashing lights would be something that would be easily flaggable by some automated system

4 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

if the refresh rate was good and ghosting wasnt an issue yea
