This is great but you gotta find a way to explain it to everyone and fortunately Bum Phillips already did
My GOTY this year
I think one of my central disappointments with Twitch's platform has been the loss of its sense of humanness and community. Their callous use of AI imagery not only damages the brand and everyone associated with it, it also is work that could have easily been done by real people who care. Hollow.
hi booskai 🫶 i was laid off last friday. i have an exorbitant amount of monthly expenses i now have to worry about, so if you are within your means, here are ways you can help me out while getting something back 🧵 (1/7)
RTs appreciated
Big EG is here this week and he means business! @bengerman.bsky.social is our featured streamer of the week and you can support our true overlord here: epilogue-shop.fourthwall.com/collections/...
I was part of the panel that made this and Bully getting the first slot is still weird to me (I love Bully)
Heads up Gamers! A new Top Ten Show has dropped yesterday! First up? A Top Ten Playstation 2 Game List! Check out the VOD over at www.twitch.tv/epiloguegami... and come dicuss the results with us over in the EG Discord 😘
I want politics to be about a better everyday life.
Here's what that can look like:
Such amazing dab form
daylight savings time + seasonal allergies + holidays being over = the worst, so I’m right there with you.
Self-care looks like posting my Connections and Mini Crossword when I get good scores and burying them deep in the vaults of the internet on days I don't.
Their explanation totally misses the mark - highlights and VODs are not about "discovery," they are about the historical preservation of actual work people put into their channel and content.
Twitch is making a change to its VOD storage system on April 19th. For those of us who have been on the platform for a long time, this really sucks - Twitch has slowly been chipping away at streamers' ability to maintain their channel history.
today, tiny terry's turbo trip is out on nintendo switch, and i was super lucky to receive early access ‼️
please watch this video for my first impressions of the game and then go buy it because it's fantastic: youtu.be/vN5e-KkmQvU?...
Any games people think will get in there eventually?
*These games were inducted during a horror-themed episode
I've been hosting a hall-of-fame induction show for Epilogue Gaming and so far we have:
Returnal
Dark Souls
Nier Automata
Fran Bow*
Resident Evil 2: Remake*
Fatal Frame II*
Outer Wilds
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Journey
Disco Elysium
Bloodborne
Yakuza 0
Feels like a pretty solid start 5 episodes in.
Wow, that’s so much worse
Out of Context working quickly these days I see
while, perhaps ever, I realized it has served its purpose for me.
My view of the world at large is often pessimistic, but I did want to share this little observation. If you're struggling to be kind to yourself, try being kind to others first.
is a little kinder. A little lighter. Through slow change, I've noticed much of my 2024 felt like that. The more often I was kind, the more often people were kind to me, and in return, I was kinder to myself.
When the award show wrapped, and it's the last one I will host for a long...
And as someone who is not always nice to themselves, the best change I've made is focusing on being kind to others. It's often returned in my direction, and then guess who I am kinder to after that? Me.
So anyway. Every year after the show I notice this little thing in my life where everything...
Or, at least, make an effort to change. Changing is hard, obviously.
Anyway, these award shows have been emblematic of something I've noticed anecdotally: when you are kind to people, they are kinder to you, they are kinder to others, they are kinder to themselves.
But I do think kindness is both a) beneficial and b) often contagious.
I've noticed at various points in my career, whether in academia or as a content creator, I've felt envy. Sometimes that envy would press itself in unhealthy ways.
I didn't like that about myself and decided to change.
I think there is a misconception that kindness is an alturistic characteristic or that it must somehow be altruistic in nature. It almost has a bad wrap, maybe for valid reasons (the "nice guy" is obviously not fun to be around).
On Sunday I got to host a community award show. I've been doing it for about eight years now once a year.
I don't want to talk about growth or engagement but what I do want to talk about is kindness, both how it has personally impacted me and what I've noticed about it impacting others. Thread:
Congratulations to all of the @epiloguegaming.bsky.social Awards Nominees & Winners!
Thank you to everyone who voted for me, I am stunned that I won Best Community Streamer.
And - Thank You to @bengerman.bsky.social for trusting me to host next year. I'm honored. It means a lot to me, & I'm hyped!
