This week, we talked about a guy who had 1 hit for the Mets and our guest @marksimon.bsky.social was there to see it! Ross Jones had a walk off double in his only Mets hit. Jones played 67 MLB games and then had a long career in film!

OTD: In the 4/20/1932 #Pittsburgh Press;

First time I could find a reference in newspapers to “Let’s Go Bucs” as it relates to the BASEBALL #Pirates.

There were several references to “Let’s Go Bucs” printed in the PG for the NHL HOCKEY Pirates from 1928-29.

OTD 4/16/87:

“Bob Kipper pitched his 1st major-league shutout yesterday with the help of a 4th outfielder- the wind.

“A strong, Wrigley Field breeze blowing in kept 2 drives by Jody Davis & a 3rd by Leon Durham from going out early in the game, & Kipper had no trouble with the Cubs after that...”
