A graphic that shoes the cover art of THE CURSE OF DRAGON TAIL ISLAND by Jonathan Nevair. "The Curse of Dragon Tail Island is simply great, lighthearted fun. The novel blends pirates with classic fantasy, all in a Robin Hood style package." Full review on FanFiAddict.

What happens when you combine classic fantasy with a pirate adventure? THE CURSE OF DRAGON TAIL ISLAND by @jnevair.bsky.social is the perfect answer to that (and the eBook is on sale today!)

Ian watson in front of a wall of books.

Ian watson in front of a wall of books.

Ian Watson was a Hugo finalist in 1979 for the excellent short story "Very Slow Time Machine." (I probably would have voted for it.)

He was again a Hugo finalist in 1984 for Best Novelette with "Slow Birds."

Worked with Kubrick on the script to A.I., which was eventually filmed by Spielberg.

RIP

Spines look great! But was it really necessary to so violently tear author‘s name‘s letters all along them?

I trust Scott, if he says no AI has been used, then I believe him. He is so enthusiastic about his books and has such a loving community, it is a usual witch hunt… and the artist has a pretty damn good reputation.

Reading it at the moment. Haven’t read Dungeon Crawler Carl, so cannot compare. The book hits me in different weak spots (battle against occupation is a hard topic for an Ukrainian), so it isn’t a light read for me. But nevertheless I highly recommend to try it. And hey, the book looks gorgeous!

A hand-tinted picture of a 1950s Univac control room, the walls lined with computer cabinets, a male operator in a suit seated at a steel desk replete with control knobs and an oscilloscope. The image has been altered. A shiny robot is bursting out of a hole in the checked floor; the back wall bears the Anthropic logo, and the main computer cabinet now has the Claude Code logo.

Anthropic's developers made an extremely basic configuration error, and as a result, the source-code for Claude Code - the company's flagship coding assistant product - has leaked and is being eagerly analyzed by many parties:

Waiting for the salary to arrive to my account to be able to buy tickets for me and my family to „Project Hail Mary“. So excited to watch it, it was a real reading highlight for the last year for me.
What about you? Have you watched it? Did you like the movie? The book?
