“Not ready for prime time.” A federal tool to check voter citizenship keeps making mistakes. | Alaska Beacon DHS rushed the revamped tool into use while it was still adding data and before it could discern voters’ most up-to-date citizenship information.

A federal tool is wrongly flagging eligible voters as non-citizens, threatening their right to vote. In a Missouri county alone, over half of flagged voters were actually citizens.
