Over years, the DWP penalised thousands of unpaid carers who unintentionally earned above the limit.
I am calling on the government to overhaul the system to ensure carers can live with dignity and security.
It is a huge step for carers that the government has started the reassessment process for Carers Allowance overpayments.
This marks the beginning of rectifying past injustices where hardworking unpaid family carers were penalised by DWP for being overpaid through no fault of their own.

Starmer’s position is entirely consistent with what he wrote about Iraq in 2003, a fact of enormous inconvenience to just about everybody currently criticising it. Happily for them, just like the entire bloody Chilcot Inquiry it is apparently very easy to ignore.
