A piece from the Mirror, which reads as follows:
All the cost of living help available from April
Energy Bills
The Government says households will save an average of €150 on energy bills from April as the price cap falls by 7%. This is on top of the £150 Warm Home Discount for eligible customers.
Rail Fare Freeze
Regulated rail fares across England and parts of Wales are frozen for 2026. Ministers say some commuters could save around £315 a year.
Pay Boost
The National Living Wage and Minimum Wage rise by 4% in April. Full-time workers on the NLW will get around £900 more a year, while younger workers could see £1,500 extra.
Prescription Charges
Prescription costs in England will stay under £10 for 2026. All exemptions and Prepayment Certificates remain unchanged.
State Pension Increase
The State Pension rises by 4.8% from April 2026. This takes the full weekly amount to £241.30.
Universal Credit Two-Child Limit Removed
From April 2026, families will receive Universal Credit for all children, regardless of family size. The Government says this could lift 450,000 children out of poverty.
30 Hours Free Childcare
Eligible working parents can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare for children aged 9 months to school age. Officials say this could save families up to £7,500 a year.
Free Breakfast Clubs
Free breakfast clubs are being rolled out to every primary school in England. Ministers say this could save families up to £450 a year while supporting children's learning.
Reform pretend to be on the side of working people.
The reality?
They’re led by snobby millionaires who have no idea how much cost-of-living support matters to families.
They’re not on your side.
Labour is.
