@1199seiu.org has built its reputation fighting for workers’ rights, but its own management is refusing real negotiations and trying to impose a contract by email. Staff are ready to bargain a fair deal. Email management and demand good-faith negotiations: actionnetwork.org/letters/join...

1,132 days. It’s over.
Since we last shared an update on bargaining, we’ve received additional information about management salaries at Rewire.
The TLDR: The pay discrepancy between management and union members is deeply unsettling.
Every single Senate Democrat will vote against Russell Vought, the Trump nominee for OMB and chief architect of the ultra-right Project 2025.
We are holding the floor of the United States Senate overnight to expose how Project 2025 is the Trump White House agenda.
Working people deserve a Department of Labor that works for them. We will stand up to anyone trying to harm working people. That starts with DOGE.
We are thrilled to share that the request for voluntary recognition of our union has been signed, pending verification by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service tomorrow morning! Thanks to our teammates past and present and the organizers at @wbng.org for getting us across the finish line.
Good News in Chicago!!!!
The Chicago Tribune Guild won its first contract from Alden Global Capital after six years of bargaining! The new contract secures substantial economic gains and 21st-century workplace protections for members as they continue to keep Chicago informed and accountable.
Graphic with bold text urging action against H.R. 9495. The header reads, 'Tell Your Reps: Vote No! On H.R. 9495.' The main text says, 'Defend Nonprofit Workers!' followed by a warning: 'H.R. 9495 could shutter nonprofit newsrooms, stifle free speech, and harm our communities.' The NewsGuild-CWA logo is included, and the link 'bit.ly/STOP9495' is highlighted at the bottom in a red banner.
🚨ACTION NEEDED: H.R. 9495 includes a poison pill provision that is a serious threat to nonprofits. This bill would remove due process and hand over considerable power to future administrations.
Join us in urging Congress to vote NO on H.R. 9495!

Finally got on here. Let’s talk unions.
