I know a couple of places - Vgen I mostly heard about, but never used it, Ko-Fi shop and of course checking out the bios for information - but are there any other well-known/hidden places for art made by actual people out there?

This is a genuine question - given by the recent Twitter "fiasco" and how I still cannot share images in Bluesky messages - what are the most reliable way to commission others? What places shall I check out, or how to find genuine artists in the wild?
