I'm holding a green linocut print of a Jack-in-the-Pulpit above my workbench, which has a green cutting mat and various carving and printmaking tools on it. Jack-in-the-Pulpit is a small, curved woodland flower with three large leaves emerging out of its stem behind the flower.

I've been working with new forms . . . introducing Ironweed Arts, named after my favorite native flower 💜 ironweedarts.com

Imperfect action ✷ a DIY notepad (free template) for making calls Wonky imperfections + useful art for uncertain days. A quick how-to video and a free design you can use, share, make your own.

Made a little DIY notepad for making calls and taking action… sharing a simple how-to/free design template if you too are phone-shy but still trying to make calls to senators, representatives, various wannabe-overlords…

this means my book is on sale for $15.30, serendipitous for a book where the numbers 1-5-3 are so important... if you're also into numerology, or myths where the numbers aren't there by accident, hi, I made this for you:

Special Update: Reading Periods for Debut Poetry Books or First/Second Books Trends and data on submission fees, compensation, and more. Focused just on publishers with deadlines for first poetry books.

For the poets! Data on submission fees and more for first or second poetry books in 2025:

poetrybulletin.substack.com/p/special-re...

I find it helpful to put submission fees in context and tried to do that here, especially for poets who can only afford to take it one deadline at a time this year.

yeah, I'm originally from GR, now up north - always hoping the Poetry Bulletin aims for the fair labor/union vibes my grandpa shared as I grew up here... it's great to find other Michigan poets who get it!

thanks so much for this and for getting the word out! I'm hoping to nudge more presses on the fees this year, and it helps when more of us push on it... the data just makes it so clear which publishers actually care about access and which don't.
