A lot of nods to Alien, which were nice and well thought out, rather than lazy.
Andy was incredible. I want more David Jonsson in my life, please.
There was this theme of small actions having enormous consequences throughout the movie. Butterfly effect style.
The writing (not necessarily dialogue but the moment-to-moment action) was stellar. The chest-burster scene was incredible - just everything that happens in that sequence was chef's kiss perfect.
The lead was only three years younger than Sigourney Weaver in Alien. I didn't read them as kids - they all read as 20-somethings to me, when I'd been primed to expect something closer to teens.
Watched #Alienromulus last night. I enjoyed it a lot. Among the better Alien movies. Mild spoilers incoming.

Trying is doing! (Yoda didn't know what he was talking about)
You shall not pas....try?
My to-do list: Give a name to your main character.

C'mon, everyone just be cool.
Oh no. I've reached the point in my prewriting where I have to start naming characters. This is devastating.
Sending love.
So real. Every other Thursday.
PSA: Robophobia is a thing.
Saw one journal article define it as a "bias against non-human deciders" which technically includes coin-flips, D20s, and magic eight balls.
Breaking story is a noun for one kind of writer and a verb for some other kinds.
