The ICANN fee that is charged on every generic top-level domain (gTLD) registration, transfer or renewal is going up on July 1, 2025 from $0.18 to $0.20. We pass that fee directly through in our pricing, so accordingly, we'll be adjusting prices on all gTLDs by exactly $0.02 effective July 1, 2025.

Heads up that very soon, most generic top-level domains (gTLDs) are moving to a single contact (owner) instead of the current four contacts (owner, admin, tech, billing). There's nothing you need to do if your domains are with Hover - we've got it all covered.

If you are not a username and password kind of person, you can sign into your Hover account using a "magic token" instead. It gets sent to your account email, and we also still enforce 2FA if you have that configured. From the sign in page, just click "Sign in With Magic Token".

We had a blue check at that other place, but we also think that domain name handles are a really good indicator that accounts are who they say they are. We still welcome the news that Bluesky has adopted a verification program and visual indicator.
