You can still use any site, it’s just wayyy less appealing. And it makes you more aware of distractions, with plenty of customization around effects and how the pause screen is displayed.

Reravel - Chrome Web Store Reclaim your focus by making distracting websites less interesting.

Blocking distracting sites never really works for me, so I tried a different approach.

I made them boring.

Here's my Chrome extension called Reravel:
chromewebstore.google.com/detail/rerav...

Instead of blocking, it adds visual effects and a pause screen before you scroll.

Claude Code for Product People: Setup and Mindset Shift It’s Tuesday afternoon. An experiment you’ve been running for three weeks just hit statistical significance. The numbers are messier than you hoped. You have a growth review in two hours where you’ll need to make a call. You also have a PRD to update, six tickets to create for the next iteration, and a release announcement to draft before end of day. Oh, and you just remembered you have to present your roadmap to the C-suite tomorrow morning.

Using Claude Code has shifted the way I worked more quickly than anything else I can remember.

So I wrote up a guide from a Product Manager perspective:

Sure, it makes the job more efficient, but the real value is making room for work that actually needs _you_

🎡 Spin to Speak Meeting App

Ever that awkward meeting moment of “Who wants to go next?”

…and then either silence or the same 2 people talk?

I built a simple spinner to decide:

Drop in names, spin, and move on. Not groundbreaking, but weirdly useful. Another tiny tool for everyday friction.

That's home. That's us.

That's home. That's us.

This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.

Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

🤩 Straightforward idea but really powerful for being able to communicate for different audiences or just saving time repositioning symbols

Nothing fancy, just trying to build more tiny tools like this to improve efficiency. It's been my most-used tab the past couple weeks.

Rich Text to Markdown Converter A modern, minimal tool to convert rich text to markdown format

Kept running into friction moving between AI tools, docs, and markdown.

ik other markdown converters exist, but they didn’t handle formatting the way I wanted, so I built a simple one for myself: benjamintravis.com/rich-text-to...

Split-pane, instant, stats, and easy toggle to switch directions 🕹️

The double-headed eagle is a strong choice. In terms of flags with animals on them, I'm partial to Volchansk

Cozy video games can quell stress and anxiety. Explore a charming town, meet quirky villagers, and take in the cozy vibes!

Reuters made a little game about Cozy Games (via NiemanLab)

Related, I don’t think I would have survived 2020 nearly as well without the Untitled Goose Game

Foundation's style is beautiful!

One of my favorite recent city-building games has been Dorfromantik. Very casual, also very cathartic. And islanders is another simple but fun one.
