More than 9,000 children in Gaza hospitalised for acute malnutrition in October, UN says Aid agencies say Israel is still restricting their aid shipments despite ceasefire announced two months ago

Israel is still throttling the aid supply to Gaza. And Britain is still supplying Israel with arms and maintaining normal diplomatic relations. The genocide continues, as does British complicity. 26 months and counting.

Public Consultation on Hampstead Heath Bathing Ponds | Commonplace

The Gender Critical have already inundated this survey with their disgusting views on banning trans people from using the ponds.

Would be a shame if we inundated with trans positive views on not banning trans people.

Can’t explain it but of course they want to take away one of the only painkillers that’s safe for pregnancy, a condition that causes weird and unusual pains. these people WANT pregnancy to be a punishment and handicap. they want to control.

Photo with Keir Starmer and copy that reads: RECOGNITION OF A PALESTINIAN STATE IS A HOLLOW GESTURE WITHOUT MEANINGFUL ACTION TO END ISRAEL'S GENOCIDE, APARTHEID & OCCUPATION

Recognition is no doubt significant but it will be a hollow gesture if the UK does not also seek to end Israel's genocide, illegal occupation, and system of apartheid against the Palestinian people.

Isaac Herzog is named directly in the UN report which states clearly that Israel is committing genocide - he is named as one of the figures inciting genocide. Last week Keir Starmer felt it was fit to roll our the red carpet for Herzog on in a visit to Britain.

If you know anyone who has to keep a phone secret, and can safely let them know, it is going to be really, really, important that they know to make sure those phones are switched off, or on airplane mode, before the alert goes through at 3pm.

The targeted killing of Anas al-Sharif and five other journalists on Sunday means at least 242 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of October 2023.

No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed.

There are two key problems with the new UK government position that it will recognise Palestine unless Israel ends the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and commits to a two-state solution. [brief 🧵]

Interesting thing about positive and humane asylum policies isn't just that they are more effective, but they are also cheaper, and in some cases revenue enhancing, meaning you are able to actually invest in other areas to help more people. 1/

This is getting close to 150K signatures now. It might not do anything, but it will serve as evidence for the future that the UK government were aware of the opposition of its own people to its complicity in the Israeli genocide on Gaza & the fact that it did nothing to stop it.

The
@LemkinInstitute
is calling on every leader in the world to step in immediately with measures that ensure food and water gets into Gaza right now.

No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits.

GET FOOD AND WATER INTO GAZA NOW.

IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT.

Wow—the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named after Raphael Lemkin, a Holocaust survivor who coined the term genocide) says plainly:

"No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits…IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT."

"HISTORY WILL DETERMINE THE RECTITUDE OF YOUR ACTIONS."

A photo of David Lammy and Benjamin Netanyahu shaking hands with a tweet from Amnesty over the top which says:

Empty words from the Foreign Secretary - the statement lacks any resolve, leadership or action to help end the genocide in Gaza. 1/4🧵

Amnesty's tweet is in response to a tweet from David Lammy that reads:
The suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths.

Alongside 25 other partners, the UK message is clear: the war in Gaza must end now.

We need action, not empty words.

The UK government must show real backbone by immediately halting all arms exports to Israel - whether direct or indirect - including components for F-35 fighter jets.

Don't let them take away our rights behind closed doors

The EHRC's proposed Code of Practice would devastate trans+ lives and put everybody at risk.

This trans bathroom ban is set to become law with no debate, no scrutiny and no vote in Parliament.

We have to act now.

The EHRC – the body which is meant to protect our human rights – is proposing guidance which would turn the Equality Act into a bathroom ban. If this becomes law, it would force trans people out of public life.

And terrifyingly - this is all happening behind closed doors 🧵
