The System 3 Premier Collection for the Commodore 64

The System 3 Premier Collection for the Commodore 64

I'd love to have a cartridge copy of this (and Myth) for the 64, but they're a little cost prohibitive.

I am lucky enough though to have the Premier Collection on cassette. Despite LN2 being on the front, and adverts for LNRemix being in the box, the tape actually contains LNRemix by mistake. Oops!

The Larry parody gave me a good chuckle, but that accent was atrocious. 10/10 for effort though.

It may not be the WORST, but this just might be the most boring-est fighter I've EVER covered!

A photo showing a large and varied collection of game boxes, viewed from overhead and pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle so there are no gaps. Titles range from more famous games (Resident Evil, Star Fox, Kirby, Metal Gear Acid) to PC-98 RPGs (illusion City) and original arcade boards (Radiant Silvergun, Knights of Valour 2 Nine Dragons).

I'd been waiting for this one for a while and was convinced it would take the top spot.
Whereas Pit Fighter was a mangled port of a mediocre game, Dangerous Streets was an original pile of dogshit from the ground up.

People keep saying the codenames in Metal Gear Solid sound like Megaman X bosses, so I decided to give them actual designs. Matches the scale of my other X mockups.

Something I've been sitting on for several years that I finally decided to wrap up tonight.

A photo showing an embarrassingly large quantity of Japanese PlayStation games. They've been laid out flat on the floor, with no gaps. Titles encompass everything from big hits (Final Fantasy 9, Ridge Racer), to famous niches (Koudelka, Umihara Kawase) and the sadly under-appreciated (Kaze no NOTAM, Gunparade March).

Front page of speedrun.com showing that I reclaimed the two lost records. Barely.

How the day started vs. how it's currently going...

Definitely felt uncomfortable for a few hours.

Got the Commodore 64 T2 run down to under 8 minutes. Not sure how much further this one can go!

Some good progress, getting the time down to 08:27. Not sure if I can go any faster without a lot of luck. If it wasn't for some slightly shoddy fight stages I'd suggest this was at my limit.

Decided to see how fast I can beat the old Terminator 2 Game on the Commodore 64, current speedrun record is 15 minutes and I'm currently just over 10.

The first stage is mostly down to a routine. There's some charm here, and I hold a fair bit of nostalgia, but it's not a good game!

Two weeks later and that's every Micro Machines: Military record in the bag. I think I'll take a break from the MM games (at least until the new year) and have a think about what I want to run next, if anything.
