Enzo the Smart? Where he tries to make himself smarter than everyone else, and the way that's accomplished is by slowing down the clock speed of Mainframe. S1E8.

I mean Heaven can allow her and Vaggi in. Pentious can't travel back to Hell, but there's no reason Charlie can't travel to heaven since she did so before. She can't make her own portals, but I don't see why heaven won't let her travel.

Plus the problems of corps hording IP. WB holding up anything Oz related with a magnifying glass to see if they can find a way to sue, despite the books being PD. Disney putting pressure on Mattel to kill Ever After High, because they don't want a competing take on fairy tales.

Funny. I think we should go back to having the 25 year, with maybe a renewal for a second stint of 25. People create wonderful works inspired by things they can't write for directly, but also create remixes of the classics that are no less creative, and that should be possible in a single generation

Have any #hazbinhotel Lucifer cosplayers ever got their picture taken with this thing?

It's not as weird as the 1978 Marvel Kiss comic, where they got their powers from ancient talismans that Doctor Doom was after, then they went to hell, and then space.

KISS have wanted to be superheroes the whole time. lotta Kirby shoutouts in the movie too. It's fun.

I mean there've been real ghosts since at least 1985 in 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. At this point real supernatural stuff is just as part of Scooby Doo as evil capitalists.

So about Starfleet Academy 09. Discovery has been name-dropped a few times. I don't think it's gonna show up, but I wonder how they'll explain not using this to get outside the minefield (to pick up the kids, or launch an attack). Maybe it will play a part off-screen.

Today, US & Israeli forces bombed the Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Iran’s capital of Tehran.

Nurses supposedly risked their lives carrying newborns to safety from the rubble.

I’m having trouble finding more reporting about this, but here is at least a blurb from Reuters:

I dunno. I like some sports and still use the phrase sportsball for the monolithic nature of it, or just to be silly. There is a mocking element to it, but that's very lighthearted.

Pervasive Paracosm - Fixation Disorder

It goes without saying that this is a completely made-up diagnosis. It was invented by Dr. Anton Stark in the mid-90s to try and rationalize the natural abilities of Kithain, Kinain and the fae-touched, and has done nothing but damage mortal and changeling children since its inception. Most kids diagnosed with PPFD are suffering nothing more than an overactive imagination, or the ability to see the Dreaming.

Multiple studies have come out since Stark’s initial publication, completely refuting the existence of sucha disorder. Some suggest it isa mixture of other disorders, but most agree that children have imaginations and that isn’t a detriment. The DSM does not recognize PPFD as a valid diagnosis.

Bellerophon still operates in the black despite these refutations. It is the latest in a long line of medical cons preying on the fears of caring parents to make a quick dollar and enforce a draconian view of “normalcy.” A few therapists and researchers are honestly trying to help these “troubled kids;” they would be absolutely horrified to realize the damage they are inflicting instead.

So I started reading, first the 2e book then the 20th anniv version. At least in 20th the authors are clear to not disparage psychiatry as a whole, and treat the psychiatrists and groups enforcing Banality as frauds, and moral guardians who don't have science on side.

No my friend Adderall killed the Fey

Reply: this comment precisely encompasses why I detest changeling the dreaming. "but if van gogh was medicated, he wouldn't paint the starry night"-ass game and audience.

Thanks for the reply. All points I agree with, and the answer wasn't necessarily going to stop me from getting into it. You kinda have to negotiate with the problematic to consume any media at all, let alone a game you can control.

Comment was just a bit “huh,” so I wanted to know the truth of it

Fails those groups of people (and everyone) because of capitalism, and the 9 to 5 grind and all that... but yeah kinda want to know about this point.

Of course the medical model of disability can become a problem if it's the only praxis used, so there is nuance to "anti-med," but... yeah.

Okay TTRPG people. Can someone confirm or refute a claim I heard about Changeling the Dreaming? The claim is that a large portion of the fandom, and maybe the game itself fetishize mental illness and spicy brains, and are anti-medication.

I'm really drawn to the idea of the game, and how society +

It was Hank Green. I couldn't quite remember who it was, but it was his video called “Slavery is racist”.

I saw an interesting comment. The only really bad things that can happen to you when you're rich is loss of social status, and death. And that's why they're so afraid of “cancel culture,” and Silicon Valley is obsessed with finding a way to live forever.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Which is because of Prager's agenda of course, but also easier to do if you treat Billy as lit rather than theatre.

PragerU's Terrible Shakespeare Opinions, or Why I Stopped Talking About Shakespeare YouTube video by KyleKallgrenBHH

That too, but I was showing this to someone the other day. Prager's people talking about Shakespeare using themes of performative ness and seeming vs being as him decrying the breakdown of objective reality due to modernity, and the Reformation and not meta theatre.

The way he explained the world through a new narrative (cause describing it flatly would be rather BANAL), hit hard. I never knew anything about Changeling other than the name, but honestly it really resonates deeply with how I've been feeling for a long time.

I do tend to prefer watching Shakespeare to reading it. Sometimes people forget its theatre and can lose some of the meaning.

The Helluva pilot for sure. The Hazbin pilot I feel mostly holds up, and I watched the show first. I was aware of the Helluva fandom but didn't check it out till S2 of Hazbin started.

I think the Hazbin pilot has some strengthes over the series cause of streamlining, but it can't stand alone.

And sheer boredom. Like the Elf in Frieren who left a shitpost of a stone tablet claiming cheap hooch served at an Emperor's coronation was “the best spirit ever.” Inspiring a Dwarf to spend over a century looking for it.

I mean the second episode of Lois and Clark was about government agents raiding the Daily Planet to look for the illegal immigrant Superman, and Dean Cain is an “honorary Ice Agent,” sooooo...

Musk advocates white monoculturalism

Musk advocates white monoculturalism

We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

Y'know how many trans people get told that they're delusional and “aren't really trans”. Those lines were put into the movie to make a transphobic book seem less transphobic, but the lines are themselves transphobic.
