What does Australia need to make? Solar batteries? A better power grid? Fast trains? Cars? More hospitals?
If you’re the Labor government, any of the above come second to missiles.

At the core of this history is the idea that building a socialist future in Australia is still possible; that the Party is back and here to stay.
CPA history is living history.
On October 30, the Communist Party of Australia turns 105.
Why tell this history? Because the story of the CPA is one of survival against all odds, standing up for working people, and striving for a more just and peaceful future for humankind.

No police officer was ever charged for the assault.Paterson represents the spirit of the CPA, a man who cared for his community and was willing to put himself in harm’s way to defend people’s rights. His example lives on in the Party to this day.
Paterson fought for equal pay for women, the anti-racist cause in the sugar industry, and for a 40-hour working week, advocating socialist policies of free housing, free education and pharmaceuticals. He was struck on the head by a police officer in 1948.

Can anyone suggest that they went without fruit because our fruit trees ceased to bear fruit? And can anyone suggest that we went without manufactured goods because our machinery ceased to turn and our artisans had lost their skill? Not on your life!

A formal greeting from the Communist Party of Australia to the Communist Party of India for their 25th Congress in Chandigath Punjab Dear comrade, The Communist Party of Australia (CPA) sends our warmest greetings to the Communist Party of India (CPI) for your 25th Congress in Chandi- garh, Punjab, from 21 to 25 September. We salute you in your struggle for working-class economic democracy, voter’s rights, secular society and scientific socialism in India. It is clear that the class struggle in India is entering a heightened stage, with farmers and agricultural work- ers, women and youth playing a prominent role in mass organisation. We acknowledge the leading role of the CPI in unifying progressive and working-class forces and coordinating the struggle against capitalist ruling-class power in your country. A point of intersection between our two parties is the anti-war and anti-imperialist drive. Working-class movements in the Global South are playing a crucial role in resisting the brutal US-Israeli genocide in Pal- estine. We must unite in resisting the United States and Western powers and their heightened aggression around the world, in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Subcontinent, and especially against countries that are pursuing socialist construction. We wish you grand success in your Congress. May it further unify your Party and advance the cause of the liberation of the working class in India and the relentless struggle against colonialism, fascism and imperialism. We sincerely hope there will be more opportunities for exchanges between our parties into the future. Long live the Communist Party of India! Long live proletarian internationalism! Communist Party of Australia, CPA International Department
