How rural lawmakers could prove pivotal in Tennessee voucher debate Many local officials in rural areas oppose school vouchers. Some state lawmakers from those areas back Gov. Bill Lee's plan.

Rural districts are especially hurt by school voucher schemes, which threaten crucial state aid even when spent from another line in the budget.

What do they get in return? Sub-prime, pop-up schools that destroy student outcomes.

Voucher supporters in #ksleg up to their old shenanigans. Give voucher groups advance notice of Tuesday hearing on terrible voucher bill SB 75, while those opposed hear about it Friday & must submit testimony by noon Monday #ksed

Wonderful ceremony today in #ksleg as Sen. Mike Argabright honors the Southern Lyon County USD 252 Honor Flight program on the Senate floor. I was v moved today to speak w/ a Vietnam veteran who was choked up describing the wonderful visit to DC in April w/ these students.

There are a lot of flaws in this op ed (brushing aside pandemic impacts on test scores, focus only on level 3, non-nuanced look at what Mississippi did/didn't accomplish) but did the author read this article in the Kansas Reflector last week? kansasreflector.com/2024/11/22/e...
