I was walking through the west end of Vancouver the other day, “Canada’s densest neighbourhood”, and that is also what struck me, it is very quiet. You can hear birds chirping, children playing, wind rustling tree branches. We don’t really appreciate how much peace cars cost us

Rather than treat Trump’s comments about Pope Leo as deranged, embarrassing and offensive to (many) Catholics, early headlines (and stories) paint it as Trump just bashing back against a political opponent. Truly broken media environment.

This is why these forms of sexual harassment and abuse at scale work to reinforce men’s dominance. If the woman’s “best” option is to quit, then this pattern of behavior can and IS used to keep women out of certain industries and positions of power and spheres of influence.

A powerful man sexually pursuing a young woman who works for him is oppressive. It immediately limits and reshapes her future to her detriment, whether she is physically forced into it or not. It’s coercion either way, and that is why it’s so wrong. It’s an abuse of power.

If Swalwell was a GOP ratfuck they would've waited until ballots had been out for a few weeks to release it

Anyway, if you're still struggling with this I urge you to take a moment and try and see how you would feel if it were you. I, for one, would want to make sure those reporters gave a shit and did their due diligence.

Extremely good work was done today, and those women are brave as fuck. That's it.

Take a look at the CNN sourcing and fact-checking on their Swalwell article. Look at how many extra people they contacted in order to corroborate claims. They viewed screenshots, called parents/husbands/friends/colleagues. They viewed TV footage and interviews, & more. Two things worth pointing out:
