One can't deny the studio closures and layoffs, for sure. That just seems like putting blinders on and ignoring that we get more quality and variety of game releases than at any point in history. Sure, some parts of "AAA" are struggling, but they've had success this year with "AA" games.

Shawn Layden always comes off a bit alarmist these days. The definition of AA and AAA is also too nebulous. What most people regard as AA these days seems to be, to me, a AAA with a budget somewhere between 50mn and 100mn dollars. 😅
