It’s bonkers to me that so many programmers aren’t concerned with the quality level of LLM generated code. And it’s equally bonkers to me that they think they can be adequate judges of LLM generated code even when they’re seldom writing code themselves.
If you want to make me more productive, give me a tool that does simple things really well and reliably. That's valuable. I'd pay for that.
I don't have a use for a tool that does complex things badly. Beyond gimmicks, that's not useful and I'd never pay for it.

One thing that AI evangelists seem to assume, particularly legal AI evangelists assume, is that the thinking and analysis is quick, and the writing is just tedious busywork that slows us down.
But the writing IS the thinking and analysis. You work out the thinking and analysis by writing it down.
This is yet another reminder that using AI doesn't make the product better, when you don't have a team that is customer-obsessed / product obsessed.
And a team that is customer/product-obsessed without AI (or very little AI) will still run laps around one with AI...

Spent some time this week converting my project's Xcode frameworks into local Swift packages and OMG my SwiftUI previews are actually working reliably again. I've been plagued by linker errors for ~1 year now & have been forced to use the Legacy Previews Execution mode. Guess I've learned my lesson.
Some will put in the work.
Others will use that time to instead learn actually useful skills that don't become irrelevant the moment the next minor model update comes out.
