Sure she gets to be Queen in the north at the very very end, But that doesn’t erase all the garbage writing that came before. “I’m glad I was abused and raped” is not only shit for Sansa the character it’s also a dangerous and damaging thing to put out into the real world
NOT TO MENTION she’s not complicit in her own escape from kings landing like she is in the books, so she’s still just a little girl getting swept up in decisions ABOUT her not FOR her, and having no control of her own life.
Not to mention that she’s never raped in the books, and it’s entirely unnecessary to her journey as a character; navigating Cersei, Joffrey, littlefinger, the hound, even Ramsey is enough without raping her.
AND ANOTHER THING about Sansa’s writing in that show - she sits there and says all her abuse was worth it to become strong, which is fucked up and antithetical and dangerous and BORING to have a female character need rape to become ‘who they’re meant to be’ it’s gross.
It’s simply bad world building. No, actually building the world like that is fine - but to have the status quo all remain the same through the series and by its conclusion, that’s bad writing.
Also that he’s very archetypal Good Guy Hero so it doesn’t even make sense from a LITERARY perspective that he would be so blase about these issues. Esp when he’s been the victim of some, as have characters he cares about.
and having the hero protagonist show no interest in making any systemic changes. Even though he’s in a position of fame, wealth, status to do so!
