Amongst the very very sad things about the apparent total failure of uni Councils to govern their institutions is that the country has a surfeit of very qualified unconflicted people who'd do the job (very well!) on a Council for a cup of tea and a library card.

Ok, now do the bass clef.
Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.

I remember that video—you are very brave! 😄
I was almost tempted to try it but then saw the local konbini was giving away a bottle of Pepsi with each bottle of Nope purchased and I thought, hmm, nope. Sounds like your description perfectly matches what the ad looked like.

I am very wabisabi, and mindful of gomeiwaku.
I was there, last week (out near Machida-shi) but I’m back here, until next time. 🤗
A cherry blossom tree in full bloom, a blue sky and in the lower corner, a 7-11 sign.
I saw a sign…
Most certainly.
Very calming.
A statement on behalf of the Australian Cartoonists Association regarding James Hillier aka Nordacious and the QLD Government:

Reflecting on the blossoms.
国会図書館前の桜…(その反射)
Timed the trip for the end of one asadora and the start of a new one. 😆
Viewing cherry blossoms directly above.
A similar view of cherry blossoms, sakura against a blue sky.
Same again, blossoms but a slightly different perspective.
Kanpai with a can reaching towards cherry blossoms.
It’s this time. Never gets old, even 42 years after the first time.
I’m coming around to that view too. I always have a camera on me but, I don’t use it every time.
A sign at a bridge in the western suburbs of Tokyo. There is a tree as well as a few stone monuments.
A view from one of the peaks of the walking trail, looking out over valleys, mountains and forests. Incredibly, also Tokyo.
A cherry blossom tree in full bloom, towering over a 7-11 sign.
After starting three and a half years ago as a little project to get out and about more and take breaks from work, I’ve finally completed the 277km network of walks on the outskirts of Tokyo, the ‘Musashino no Michi’. It’s been quite the outer suburban adventure by an outer suburban type.🤭
武蔵野の路、完歩❗️
This has been the GOP's "starve-the-beast" scheme for nearly 50 years. Meanwhile, millions suffer and struggle to get ahead as the rich get richer. See the problem here?
A selection of paperback books in Japanese.
A view from the shores of Chigasaki, south of Tokyo, dark, overcast day.
A tray of seasonal Japanese food in a variety of bowls.
A small cup of sake, next to a glass ‘decanter’ and a blue and white dish.
Very excellent rest day includes books, beach and dinner. 久しぶり茅ヶ崎に、いい気分でいい一日でした。
Bought it last week Amy, congrats it’s a great read. 💜
Thanks, yes of course. I’m in the last stages of a larger project and I’ve done my research and prep ahead of time. 😊
So tired of the US President faking everything. ‘A present’… what a joke.
Currently: time for my Finnish class online in my hotel room in Tokyo. Not disorienting at all. 🙄
A sakura, cherry blossom, tree in a park against a blue sky.
I am pleased to report the bell was not required today. There was, however, a rather spectacular sakura in almost full bloom. It was attracting a lot of attention from the locals.
