GNOME OS prêt-à-booter image
GNOME OS prêt-à-booter image YouTube video by Valentin David

What if instead of booting a live system to install another one, we booted from the ISO into the installed system and saved it to disk in the background while already using the system. I call it prêt-à-booter image, and I have made a demo for GNOME OS.

Finally, I have managed to make an hybrid ISO live image of GNOME OS that uses the same UKI and /usr partition as the main image. That is without using dracut. So now we will be able to test GNOME OS on Boxes without going through the installation.

One interesting thing is that some VMs still provide installation mediums through a virtual SCSI CDROM. That means Linux distros need to have a kernel with CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SR. Even on aarch64. Has anyone ever had an ARM laptop/desktop with a CD drive?
