I think Splatoon is fundamentally misunderstood by some. They have primarily been single-player games to me. I only dabble in the multiplayer, but I feel I get my money's worth every time. They have the level design you expect from Nintendo platformers, great characters, catchy music. All you need.
Splatoon 3's campaign is some of the best single-player content Nintendo made on Switch. And Octo Expansion. All killer no filler.
It's a bit sad to hear people say they're finally interested in trying Splatoon because it's single-player focused. It's had quality single-player this entire time.
