Defining #zeropartydata at the IAB (Public Policy & Legal Summit) 1st party data panel - and I wish the notion stayed closer to individual agency rather than going back to levels of consent.

After all, “declared data” for a specific purpose is just another flavor of 1st party.

Mark Webber: So many “AI Committees” end up diluting responsibility and are not effective for AI governance. Someone must actually be in charge. There are thousands of use cases throughout the company - documenting it all is not so simple. (#PrivacySummit - California Lawyers Association)

Just wait Coping with the pace of agentic tools, bias, AI judges, Empowerment Tech, MyTerms, AI Ethics and the environment.

I had a lot of fun recording this one with Gam Dias for #AfterTheMagic, and hopefully some of you will enjoy listening to it. We covered a lot of ground, from the pace of #AI (and agentic building blocks) to automating litigation and Empowerment Tech.

I just hope that the focus can be set on that (separate data controller - Meta, etc.) rather than the use of analytics, AB testing, or less intrusive data processors. Adding consent banners for those alone is an overkill - and just creates the illusion of privacy

Well, consent can be the most unethical of all legal bases, as it allows a company to run counter to the nature of a particular context by simply tricking people into accepting what they do not understand. Medical research owes a lot to legitimate interest and data repurposing (with guarantees).

OpenAI to take cut of ChatGPT shopping sales in hunt for revenues Artificial intelligence start-up has shown brands a prototype of its new checkout feature

This gets really interesting. A particular kind of query would incorporate “intent” and beat the opposite flow (a conversation/search that starts on Shopify), and whoever owns the query can commoditize everyone else. “OpenAI to take cut of ChatGPT shopping sales in hunt for revenues” - on FT #retail

I’ve had it with useless chatbots. The FTC should ban them under unfair/deceptive practices. Ok, one exception, against all odds: the NC DMV’s, maybe because their website was hopeless to begin with
