I've been testing HTML elements. Some of them are interesting 🙂
Testing Rich text in Show results
www.icloud.com/shortcuts/e7...
Posts by Antonio Bueno
I wish! 😅 There seems to be a very limited subset of HTML elements supported (<a> and <br> work, <b> does not). Nevertheless, a significant improvement for #shortcut "UIs".
I'm not sure I understand the dictionary question.
User owenpawling @ r/shortcuts' Discord has found how to embed rich text in a #shortcut menu. It turns out it also works in "Show results", AND IN IOS 26.3.1!
We can even have linked text and images!

Year calendar as locked wallpaper
A clean, customizable annual calendar for your lock screen background
routinehub.co/shortcut/247...
This #shortcut generates a visual annual calendar and sets it as the device’s lock screen wallpaper
It is extremely configurable and it runs even in Airplane mode
Probably a left-hand vs right-hand problem 🤷🏼♂️
That #shortcut includes the newly found “Search Shortcuts action for…” action so you can copy and paste it in YOUR #shortcuts 🙂
Credit to @gluebyte.bsky.social for the use of the identifier as a locale-independent search term

Exciting hidden #ShortcutsApp actions are being found* this weekend!
For example, this #shortcut obtains the identifier of an action that you copy to the clipboard, which then can be used to detect if its app is installed in the device:

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.
I found that and more when searching for what terms can be used to search icon glyphs for a #shortcut
Categories also differ between US English and Spanish iOS
P.S. It turns out that search terms come from #accessibility labels, which can be extracted with the Accessibility Inspector app in #macOS
Screenshot of the WinMerge app comparing two CSV files with symbol descriptions for the Shortcuts app in iOS and macOS. Differences are highlighted in yellow and orange. The macOS file has extra entries marked “;macOS only” such as Church, Flower, Wine Bottle, and Baby. Some lines also have extra notes, like "Person Ice Skating" described as "also Figure Ice Skating.” The order of sections differs too: for example, macOS places the “COMMERCE” section later. Both files share most entries, but the differences are significant and can cause confusion of users of both platforms. A side panel shows clusters of differences concentrated in the middle of the file.
There are noticeable differences between the symbols (glyphs) available in the #ShortcutsApp depending on whether you’re using #iOS or #macOS 😬
Translated, updated, and published in RoutineHub:

What’s new in version 1.0.3 (2025-09-24)
- Fixed an import issue in #iOS 18
- Improved alert messages
- Prevents the #shortcut from ending with the Safari icon
I’ve just updated “Identify Device”:
routinehub.co/shortcut/220...
This #shortcut identifies the device where it’s run using a system plist in #iOS and ioreg in #macOS.
New in version 2.0:
- Updated with new devices.
- Compatible with macOS.
- Optional API query.
- New data source: appledb.dev
…as well as a special case for the Camera app.
I would appreciate it if anyone lets me know of any other place where this #shortcut doesn’t work 🙂
P.S. To help the latter, the ID of the app from which it was executed is copied to the clipboard.

I’ve made a more complex one but with some nice extras. The #shortcut is in Spanish but it should be easy to understand:
www.icloud.com/shortcuts/ec...
I have added warnings where it doesn’t work:
- Home Screen
- Lock Screen
- Web app
- Settings and Home apps

enshittification | noun | when a digital platform is made worse for users, in order to increase profits
All of them remain "Open"/"None" after an even more discouraging experience with FB18152648 ("#Shortcuts: “Math Error” when calculating the minimum of two integers").

From the 12 #bug reports about #Shortcuts I submitted in June, only FB18148105 ("Shortcuts: Can’t move the cursor normally when renaming a #shortcut") has been fully fixed. And FB18152978 ("Shortcuts: Errors using a triple tap while editing text") is only partially fixed.

This is awesome: a "WKRP in Cincinnati" fan created a three-hour Johnny Fever radio block, by using clips from the TV show and dropping in the full songs on his intros and outros, plus commercials and Les Nessman news breaks.

Screenshot showing two panels side by side on an iPad. The left panel displays Apple Feedback Assistant report FB18152648 titled "Shortcuts: 'Math Error' when calculating the minimum of two integers". The report, submitted by Antonio Bueno on 17 June 2025, was closed with the resolution "Investigation complete – Works as currently designed." The report describes that the expression min(99,100) causes a “Math Error” in the Shortcuts app, while similar expressions do not. The right panel shows the Shortcuts app with a shortcut that contains a list of min(x,y) expressions, including min(99,100), and uses a "Repeat" and "Calculate" action. A system alert is shown saying: “Check the expression for math errors and spelling mistakes — Math error.”
It's a bit disheartening to receive a “Works as currently designed” verdict on feedback report FB18152648: In #Shortcuts, the expression "min(99,100)" results in a "Math error", but "min(100,99)", "min(99,98)", and "min(98,99)" do not.

I usually do #shortcuts in my iPad, and a couple of times I was able to use the sync delay to recover a just-deleted shortcut with my iPhone 😅

This is a real issue I solved in Windows, the hurdles I faced, and what I'd do differently.

It starts with the user editing "HKLM\HARDWARE" and misunderstanding an instruction and breaking Windows.
Hi! Maybe this can be a useful complement for that repo 🙂

You can now export #AppleFeedback reports from iOS, iPadOS, or macOS!
A #userscript adds a JSON download link to reports on the #Feedback web app.
This #shortcut converts them to Markdown using a customizable template. Works with iOS Safari & Violentmonkey on macOS:
