Tonight's OneCity nomination candidate event was so great. So many people, including lots of new folks. Enthusiastic and amazing candidates. This feels big. We're at the start of something here. ❤️
Great night! Thanks to everyone for being there.
Big news. OneCity, COPE, and the Greens have signed a Progressive Unity Agreement. We did the hard work, and we got it done. Here's what it means and why it matters.
I love seeing these pop up around town!
The out of school care crisis is going from bad to worse with parents waiting up to five years for a spot. It doesn’t have to be this way! I’m looking forward to presenting a motion supporting more OOSC across the city. www.onecityvancouver.ca/more_out_of_...
If you believe in a pro-growth, pro-housing, pro-worker practical progressive government for all Vancouverites, then please support our campaign today to run and win Mayor, Council, Park & School Board so we can build a Vancouver where we can all belong.

Vancouver’s Mayor shouldn’t beg the Province & Feds for investments as Canada’s most important Port, one of our most diverse & fastest growing regions.
Vancouver needs a Mayor & Council who can bring people together to get things done.
Starting Oct. 17th, OneCity will do just that.
11/12
Over the coming months I will be working with our OneCity team of candidates and other progressive parties to develop progressive revenue, planning policies, and governance reforms that will lead Vancouver to better relationships, better investments, and better results.
10/12
I believe that our best days are ahead of us, that the work that is required is bringing people together to get things done, and building our way out of this crisis.
9/12
Speaking with thousands of people across the city over the last several months, people feel like our best days are behind us.
And that can’t possibly be true.

The Vibes Mayoralty has to end.
All Vancouver’s gotten out of it over the last three years are bad vibes and bad results.

🗺️ Bad Planning:
Ken Sim, as Mayor of Vancouver is leveraging other Canadians’ successes as a reason to complain — which is no way to build this city, this nation, or good relationships in a time of national crisis.
6/12
📊 Bad Policy:
Ken Sim is a bad fiscal manager, and it’s the only thing he’s supposed to be good at.
5/12
🤝 Bad Politics:
Ken Sim has failed to lead in Metro Vancouver, and failed to work with higher levels of government.
4/12
Ken Sim’s Politics by Press Release has three fundamental failures.👇
3/12
Because the multi-hundred million dollar infrastructure deficit facing Vancouver is one of the biggest issues of this campaign.
And something I am intimately familiar with after a decade in community banking and investment, and almost a decade as CEO of a non-profit homebuilder for seniors.
2/12
Response to Mayor Ken Sim’s position on the Ontario - Federal Housing & Infrastructure Investment.
Today, Mayor Ken Sim, on behalf of Vancouverites, leveraged investments in Ontario as a reason to complain that the Province and the Federal Government are failing to invest in Vancouver.
I have some things to say about this.

We need to go taller, denser, and faster. That's why we're taking bold steps to meet the scale of our housing crisis by combining and accelerating the next phases of Seattle’s Comprehensive Plan.
The impact of Stephen Lewis’ lifelong commitment to social justice and human rights is extraordinary. His legacy will live on with everyone he knew and all that were inspired by him.

It’s good to see real movement on the stalled "Bring Back Britannia" project. Pro-growth means getting things built, and I want to see shovels in the ground.
But wait, what is the actual benefit for the neighbourhood? Will they share this facility with the public?
Now, we have to demonstrate why it is so critically important to get it right. Public land is finite. Let’s protect it. Demand transparency by sharing this thread, let's make sure we get things done and get it done right.
We all use community centres to connect to provide opportunities for our youth, connect with our community, and to stay healthy, but those with less means rely on these spaces every day.
I've spent years managing complex deliverables and stakeholder negotiations. Bringing people together to get things done requires a measured approach.
We need ironclad guarantees that the public benefit will align with—and exceed—any loss of public space.
Or is this simply an exercise in privatizing public lands?
It begs the question: why is vital community infrastructure only a priority for this Mayor when his Big Money Backers show up with a cheque in hand? City planning shouldn't just be a VIP service.

Good. It is essential Ken Sim is held accountable for spreading harmful misinformation.
Sean and our city deserve better.
