Sorry, *EGA* aacounts for about 4% of global production. This facility on its own accounted for about 2.16% of production in 2025.

The thing with aluminium production is that if facilities shut down or have power failure you often can't just start them back up again.

If the power is out for an extended duration (3 hours+) the pot lines where the aluminium is smelted start to freeze below 900C.

That creates big restart issues!
