Beautiful start to the PhD fieldwork in Iceland
It's hard to say this, but science (& research more generally) is just being **stopped** in the US right now. This is just one university, losing nearly a billion dollars in project funding pretty much overnight. That's people's jobs & the research that could save lives.

and- academics love to tout that supporting science communicators is soo important and yeah most people don’t have the funds to commission an illustrator, but you know what you DO have the funds for? Not using AI art.
I want to be so clear here: using AI art during talks does not make them look better, it makes them look lazier.
