Illustration of a beetle spraying acid out of its abdomen at an ice cube
I process a lot of whatās going on around me through insects. Inspired by a good friend I made this drawing of a bombardier beetle spraying acid at ice. Abolish ICE
of course! i admire all these guys from afar!
greyscale drawing of palaeocharinus, a trigonotarbid arachnid with a segmented abdomen, standing on a great icosidodecahedron.
Palaeocharinus and a great icosidodecahedron from a few years ago, I think as lighting practice. I love trigonotarbids but something about their shape makes it really really hard to get the lighting right. #trigonotarbid #palaeoart

Koa is the second most common tree in Hawai'i, behind ohia obviously, and so there is just a ton of life with koa as the foundation. I couldāve fit in so many more bugs if I didnāt have a time limit for an exhibitionā¦
Koa branch with green sickle leaves and seed pods, covered in stink bugs, caterpillars, and a couple wasps
Iāve been itching to do more plant as habitat pieces and koa (Acacia koa) made the perfect subject. Featured are the many instars of the koa bug (Coleotichus blackburniae), the koa looper moth and caterpillars (Scotorythra paludicola), and a few parasitic wasp (Pristomerus hawaiiensis). #sciart
