I've had it this whole time, rebranded as Plex 😉

Great, no competition is great for Tesla superchargers!

According to wiki:
Chromium has been a Google project since its inception,[1][3] and Google employees have done the bulk of the development work.[15]
You are correct, thanks! I thought it was originally independent and then taken over by their largest contributor.
Given that Google has essentially taken over the Chromium project, any browser that's not Chromium based.
Personally Firefox is my go to. The only browser that supports container tabs too!
But to your point, I suppose hosting my own email server would accomplish the same.
You know, aside from all the administration overhead lol who wants to manage an email server 😂
Yeah suppose there's def some value there. I'm not opposed to these services they just seem misleading in their marketing to some degree though. Email is inherently an insecure means of communication so an encrypted email provider will only secure emails within its server.
I've seen this one before
Another Verizon situation. Give them the money first, C level gets fat bonuses, 10 years later little to no progress.

Once the email leaves Protons server to my Gmail or to my Exchange, isn't it unencrypted? What's the point with these services anyway?
They also have trackers on their significant others right? That is how you build trust in a relationship as well right?
Right?!

That's a great point, having options is great! Let's hope interoperability between the two protocols happens soon.
Honest question, why not just use Lemmy? I also see some references to creating an Insta alternative with the AT protocol, to witch again, why not just use Pixelfed?
Pass meaningful regulations that all social media has to adhere to, that addresses the government's concerns and protects user privacy?
Nah, let's just ban apps that we don't like.
I wish this would work without legacy AD for permissions. I'm in an Entra only shop and we have no desire to spin up AD servers or AD as a Service in Az.
Still good to see MS is updating it.
The #HudsonRiver this morning with some ice patches. It's a cold winter this year.
I'm waiting for the thiiick phone trend, with extra battery!
Someone, please!
Quick! Someone send him a video of Marc Rebillet!
Each server can be dedicated to a topic or have different moderation rules or be private to a set of users or public ...
When you move to another server, there's already tools to help you move your profile and it's data with you.
Companies can spin up their own servers, yes. But the whole point is that anyone can spin up their own server and if you don't like the server you are on, you can just move to another. That is the fedi verse. Good luck controlling that.
There's already many servers and it's not mainstream yet.
I'll have you know I joined it when you first did a breakdown on the new social protocol on WF last year.
The multiple servers thing will throw people off since it's new. But the point as I understand it is that you can join a server and if you don't like moderation on that server, you can just leave. And you can also spin up your own server, with your own rules, private or public.
There's a home option for your custom feed, across multiple servers if you follow others across instances.
The Local option will only show posts from the server you signed up under.
Yes, there is a discover function in the app to find trending topics and accounts!
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
porque no los dos
Pixel 9 Pro. And now that you mentioned it, I double checked and there it is!!

Pixelfed, but it needs users. Lots of users.
