It's Wishlist Wednesday! We could really use some supplies for our rabbits this week. They go through a lot of treats, food, timothy hay, and toys!

The Invention of “Sesame Street” Renata Adler’s 1972 review of the program that revolutionized children’s television.

“Small children from poor or middle-class families who watch ‘Sesame Street’ do better on cognitive tests and in first grade than children who do not watch it,” Renata Adler wrote, in 1972.

This is Stevie. He is annoyed by pretty much everything that happens outside. As you can tell from his boofs, today is no exception. 14/10 (IG: longdogstevie)

The ones at Costco seem to be bigger than the ones you find other places. I like that you can eat it like that or make it into a lot of things.

This stuff is utterly unacceptable and I hope litigation is being planned. We won a lawsuit against the Tucson Sector Border Patrol for similar unconstitutional conditions of confinement.

She arrived at the shelter with signs of severe joint pain and difficulty walking. From the start, her rear legs appeared swollen, and she struggled to stand. Despite her discomfort, Clover greeted us with a wagging tail and rolled over for belly rubs during her initial exam. She has been consistently social, tolerant, and sweet.

Clover recently spent several hours in an office environment and absolutely lit up with joy. She perked up at the sound of squeaky toys and rotated through a pile of stuffies, chewing and cuddling them contentedly. When two children came to visit, Clover stood up to greet them and happily gave them kisses. When the petting stopped, she gently nudged or pawed for more, an affectionate reminder of how much she craves human connection.

Medically, Clover’s condition is complicated. She has been evaluated multiple times by our veterinary team and was recently transferred to a partnering veterinary hospital for further assessment and stabilization. While she was originally expected to stay for the weekend, she returned early with a new medication plan. Clover remains bright, alert, and social, and she is currently able to get up and walk on her own for short periods. However, her ability to rise independently is inconsistent, and she often needs support.

Veterinary exams have noted abdominal distension, tachycardia, intermittent pitting edema in her rear limbs, increased respiratory sounds, and overall reduced mobility. Radiographs and ongoing assessments have led to a diagnosis of inflamed lungs. The cause of that is unclear. She is currently being treated with prednisone, thiopyran, doxycycline, gabapentin, enalapril, and furosemide.

Despite the challenges she faces, Clover continues to find joy in the little things, gentle pets, a soft place to lie down, a stuffed toy to chew, or a friendly visitor to nuzzle. She absolutely loves belly rubs!

We cannot normalize this. You cannot simply walk by because you have a meeting or a lunch date. You’re helping it happen when you do nothing. You are not immune from it happening to you.
